    ID this mic?

I think you're right - I wonder if they blacked in the little button for video purposes.

    Jolene cover - Feedback?

You have a nice voice - lots of body to it which you have to be born with. I think you could do a lot with it. After listening to several tracks what comes to mind is maybe try to change up your delivery, not have it be the same on everything. Your comfort zone seems to be this ROLLERer...

Unbearable hiss when connecting Samson C01 mic to TonePort KB37

My guess is a bad component. I had a mic go bad on me while under warranty and it hissed. A Samson C01 was the first condenser mic I had. I don't know if it was representative of the model but it was crap. Had a shrill high end and couldn't handle SPL's. I'm sure there are endless better mics...

Solo classical guitar recording backed by orchestra - Feedback wanted

That sounds like a midi orchestra. There are various issues with the mix and eq of the orchestra.

Can a copy of GigaStudio be activated or is it dead?

Okay thanks. I've never used it - wanted to confirm that it requires a call/response to activate.

Can a copy of GigaStudio be activated or is it dead?

If you come across a new, previously unactivated copy of GigagStudio, is it possible to activate it? Or since, as I understand it any website and support for it are long gone, does that mean it can't be activated and the disks are shiny coasters? Just to advise, I'm referring to genuine copies...

How do you personally decide deep vs. wide on eq?

? Not sure what you're talking about. When you apply eq you have to apply it over a certain frequency range (width) and a certain about of boost or cut.

How do you personally decide deep vs. wide on eq?

It's just a random example because Jimmys was expressing non-understanding of what I was talking about. I thought the terms deep and wide related to eq were self-evident.

How do you personally decide deep vs. wide on eq?

Well, your eq is going to have some kind of depth or width. I was asking regarding eq at any stage.

    Suggestions for fixing this?

Unfortunately the other spot is just as bad.

    Suggestions for fixing this?

I actually tried the Izo trial on this. I also find that oddly enough, a declicker on another noise reduction app I have can help. Izo is effective on some of the distortion and clipping problems on this video, however on this particular example I don't find a setting that does anything.

    Suggestions for fixing this?

...other than re-tracking. Not an option. Short sample of audio from video with a badly distorted spot - I had nothing to do with the production. Just playing with it for a friend. It was done at a local-yokel studio that didn't have their stuff together. Is there anything out there that will...

    Could you rate my voice?

I'd be curious to hear you sing something without going into head voice. Charlotte Church initially gained fame as a soprano, then had a pop career as an alto.

    Any luck with Presonus?

I've never used an "interface", I've always gone through mic pre's. My first pre was a Presonus BlueTube. While it worked, I discovered it was one of an early batch that was sent out with underpowered phantom, was only putting out like 28V instead of 48v. They fixed it for free. It seemed to...

Sound clicking after recording 4 mics at once [RESOLVED]

Are you recording to a second hard drive or are you making your C: drive do everything? Recording an entire track again without fixing the problem would be asking for the problem to repeat itself.

What steps do you take to export the track to melodyne - just hit transfer?

App to pitch bend a vocal without "chipmunk" artifacts?

In one place it calls it Editor, in the programs folder it calls it Singletrack. When the app is open the "About" refers to it as Editor. I get the same thing in both Cakewalk and Soundforge. The interface opens but no waveform. When I hit audition I hear audio. The only time I see a waveform...
