    Music Man help?

Is it two of the power tubes that are lit up? You know, you can run some (maybe all) 4 power tube amps with just two of them in place if it's an opposing pair that you remove. It will just have less power.

    Music Man help?

It might be the tubes themselves or it might be something else in the circuitry causing them to light up. Of course, the tubes might be toast now, too, even if that is the case, but changing them without checking out the rest of the amp might be a waste of money and tubes.

    Online re-amping service

It's when you record a track, usually for guitar, often with a DI off the instrument so that there is no amplifier character to the sound, and then play back the recorded track through an amp or combination of amps and effects and rerecord it. It lets you choose the amp and/or effects later and...

EMGs i solved a problem but now im curious as to why.

When you plug a TRS plug into a TS jack, the results are unpredictable because there is variation in jack construction, and the jack on the amp may do something different than the jack on the guitar. For example, on one end the ring may be shorted to the sleeve and on the other it may be shorted...

What does a re-amp box do? Can't you just run a channel line out to the amp?

Please help, need a quick fix

You can do that or take the cord back and forth more times to make the core bigger. Or wrap it twice. Or use thicker cord.

Please help, need a quick fix

It's one piece of cord. I tied one end to one of the tie points and went back and forth between them a couple of times to make the core, tied an overhand knot through the tie point to keep it from slipping, and then wrapped around that core from one tie point to the other. Tied it off and cut...

Here's what I did with a little Supro amp with the same problem. It's made out of cotton clothesline cord:

Playing bass through guitar speakers is generally not a good idea.

    Technical Problem with Guitar

It could be as simple as a loose nut on the output jack. Check that and the ground wire from the jack to the rest of the electronics.

Massive clean/distortion volume discrepancy, tube head.

So why do you think more amps are not built that way?

Massive clean/distortion volume discrepancy, tube head.

Some two channel Peavey amps have 5 volume controls - one on the input of each preamp, one on the output of each preamp, and a master. That allows you to run one preamp really hot and then dial down its output to match the other (clean) preamp so that both are the same volume at the master, if...

Massive clean/distortion volume discrepancy, tube head.

Doesn't that amp have pre and post gain level controls on the channels as well as a master volume? If so, that's what the post gain is there for, to dial down the output level from the hot preamp.

    Blues Jr tube question

What I took way from that thread was this: Change the preamp tubes out/around and you might hear a difference and you might not. If you hear a difference, you might like it and you might not. That's pretty much what I knew going in. :D

    Tube amp brands

EL34's and 6V6's? That's a pretty big change. Can you do that? I wouldn't try to put EL34's into my Deluxe Reverb even if the pinout would match; I'd be afraid of damaging the power supply.

    Tube amp brands

I guess that here is a good place to interject a comment about the subjectivity of hearing. What is a major change to one person may very well be a subtlety to another, even if it's the same amp and the same tubes. Whatever blows your skirt up.

    Scale Length - 24.75" VS 25.5"

This borders on the philosophical, but nothing in nature is really "all about the math". The math is only our attempts to describe, predict, and understand how natural forces in the universe behave. The ways they actually work and interact aren't dependent on math at all. They just are what...
