Swans m200 any opinions? I can get a pair of these for cheap, in my area. Are these decent, to monitor, on a budget? I've read a lot of great things about them, how they are supposed to be amazing for the price range. I was also looking at KRK Rokit 5's. Basically the pair of Swans will cost...

they were free from a friend who was moving ;) so i thought it would be interesting to use them...regardless of how they sound. can you recommend a fairly inexpensive amp to try this out with? if i dont like the results i can return/sell the amp, and profit on selling the speakers...not sure...

Everything works fine on this, and is in used but good condition. Includes manual, but needs 9V power supply.

1 reel of Quantegy 499. I got this in a package with a recorder, it was used once by the original owner to record drums, you can hear some faint drum sounds. Might need to be erased, or record over them. I never used this tape. 1/4" on 7".

Yeah I think he was talking about the sound quality of todays recorded music, not talent. I agree with a lot of what he says, but there have been some great rock records in the past 10 years, both sound and talent wise.

I'm actually in USA...not UK. I can get quantegy 1/4" Quantegy 456 tapes most places, but am having a hard time finding 407 tapes.

I've been using Quantegy 407 with my Fostex model 80 and am very happy with the sound. Where is a good place to buy more of this tape...at a decent price? I got a couple on ebay for cheap, but they are used up now. Also what other tapes are compatible with 407?

Thanks for all the help and info guys! I finally configured it through n-track to record multiple tracks, and have it set up for ASIO. Everything sounds great from the soundcard. Not really sure waht the problem was the first 2 times I tried to install this thing, but I guess 3rd times a charm...

The channel meter isn't showing anything. Faders turned up, and not muted. Master is up as well. I had the patchbay/router 1/2 channel set at Wav out, but also tried Monitor Mix...still nothing. I'm now getting an error type message when restarting or turning on my computer before windows...

Uninstalled, reinstalled with the new drivers, everything shows at set up...but sill no sound registers when i plug into it... :(

For some reason my PC (window XP) recognizes it as a floppy disk drive :confused: I installed it and plugged in my mixer's outs into the analog ins and no sound registers on the computer, my computer does say it is installed and working properly. HELP!

I've read on this forum you can erase 1/4" with a demag. I was just wondering what the correct way to do this is. I'm assuming you just bring the demag up to the reel and then move it away?
