0db on ANY preamp will almost never read 0db on the meter in protools or other recording software.

the audix D6 is great for rock/metal/punk etc. I love the size of it and the response is fairly scooped at 400hz which i love as well. One con about the D6: it's not as hot of a mic as the beta 52 or the d112.

Best burning speed with modern burners depends. It's all about cd drive and cd brand combination. 1x and 2x are generally NOT good burning speeds with newer cdr drives. I tend to always burn 8x or 10x for critical stuff.

yes, you can burn wave file on cd with a pc and transfer to mac and vice versa.
