How to add a sub to active monitors?

Re: How to add a sub or external EQ to active monitors?  http://www3.sympatico.ca/bvaleria/bluebear/articles/eqnotes.htm Herwig (meant in the best possible way) Ps: damn, I forgot the helpful part of my post: Most subs have built-in bass control, sound from the...

Can I control the PODxt from a boss GT-5 via MIDI?

Actually, a firend of mine just bought an XT with the Behringer pedalboard. He couldn't get the Behringer to communicate with the PodXt and he *really* needed to get it working past weekend. so he digged up the GT-5 and had program changes working in minutes. (expression didn't work, but he had...

    modelling preamps

AFAIK a Roland guy showed us a VS-880 about five years ago that had mic/pre modelling... didn't work then, won't work now, they just need a new thing to get us into buying stuff from them. Herwig

    Computer solution for Standalone recorders

actually most HD recorders ARE computers, they're just set up in a pretty reliable way and with thoroughly tested components. IMHO you can make the same thing with a stripped down computer. Since most of them recorders don't mix, do plugins or have freecell32.exe on them they don't need the...

    Theft of Services!

I second the test tone. Giving out a bad quality recording is bad publicity for your facility, people could think that's the kind of 'quality' recordings you produce. Put in something annoying, but that doesn't disturb the actual listening or quality of the recording, after all, it's a copy to...

    Recording Software RAM Usage

Care to explain ? I 'feel' a difference in performance on my music computer when enabling/disabling the page file. With a minimal windows setup and running only the sequencer and several samplers I reallky do feel the diff... I wouldn't know why it would hinder performance ? If I have an...

...why do I want a patchbay...

I know I'd prefer visual 'hardware' patching over virtual software patching. It's like mixing with the mouse: everything can and will go faster and easier with hands-on, visual stimuli. That's just the way our brain (at least mine ;) ) works. Herwig

Doug: wow, 9 fans... that's a whole lot!! The airconditioned closet is a dream of mine too. In my ideal studio situation, I'm thinking of a control room with A/C, but with a duct running under the desk/racks with an airstream into the racks (of which one would be a silenced rack, complete with...

Alriht, I've been away two days... my replies Emeric: yes it works. I don't have a Radio Shack audio meter, but the two audio meters at the side of my face tell me it works. When running the office box I hear a faint 'zzzzzzzzz', when running the DAW box alone I hear close to nothing. It's the...

Right side with air intake. Left side has outtake at top. (V2.0 may have rackspace, and I might let the sides of the computers off for better airflow)

control central. The fans run on a standard 240AC transfo, switchable from 1.5 to 12V. Lowest setting moves no air, highest setting is too loud. 6V seems a good setting. Inseide the box I attached molex connectors, looked cooler ... errr.. nerdier ;)
