    Feedback on New Mix?

It's got a melancholy, Daniel Johnston vibe. You're right about that mic - it gives you that "old-timey quality", so keep that, but what's going on with that snare? It sounds like you played one snare over the other, with a 20 or 30 ms delay (distracting).

Starting Final Mixes: Song 2 - Ignite Me

You got a little "sludge-metal" thing going with those rhythm guitars - a little too low-passed for me. Is that a real guitar playing the lead, or a synth? Fun song!

Slow Classic rock song..looking for feedback

Good ethereal song. Very "Jethro Tull"ish. Some of the synth parts in the beginning of the song are masking the vocals, but are ok at 2:30 on. The intermittent lead vocal double is a cool idea, but imo, should not be panned hard L/R. Either keep both in the center, or 3 vocals - strong C...

Starting Final Mixes: Song 1-My Praise

Every instrument is present enough. You have some dynamic moments, however, that could be a bit more "exiting" with heavier guitars, or tom fills - more accentuation. This mix is good enough to pass out to fellow church members, but to take it to the next level, you or someone you know could...

Let the Wells Run Dry with easlern and ibleedburgundy

Yea, I agree with posters above - keep the drum level where it is, and turn almost everything else up. Sounds like you have plenty of headroom to bring the guitars and lead vocals up, yet still give it an "easy listening" vibe.

    Please Critique this Instrument-thick mix

Re Wizard - Pain Mashup - Verse vocals lean toward James Hetfield, Phil Anselmo, while the choruses with death metal growls (good stuff). I'll work on getting the growl vocals a little more "menacing". and I should be betting out more air. You got it, Nola (Oppenheimer) Thanks for the comps.

    Please Critique this Instrument-thick mix

Here is a song with everything but the kitchen sink (because I don't know how to play a sink). Please let me know what can be improved on here. Please listen to the entire song, as there is a string section outro. Also, extra points if you can tell me who is speaking at the end. thx Ok here...

    Apologies, need a sanity check...

I did the same thing, eastern - It would be helpful if people put their most recent mix on the OP (use edit feature?), so that we can critique from the get-go.

Hey , bash my recording ..

Acoustic Guitar is adding unnecessary bass to the mix. Maybe try a bit of hi-pass filter on. Maybe change up the snare at the heavier parts - a bit more "thwack" for dynamics on each passage

    Apologies, need a sanity check...

F%^* those electric guitar players/divas, jk. Actually, it sounds like it's more "taking turns", with the acoustic vs electric presence debate anyway, as each takes a turn with prominence. I'm happy with the ALL guitar levels - now let's work on that snare, as it needs more "wack" in the heavy...

Let the Wells Run Dry with easlern and ibleedburgundy

Sounds like Poco, or New Riders of the Purple Sage. Drums could use replacement triggers to mix with a vst drums (Snare, Kick, Toms) for a more modern sound. Did you double the lead vocals? If so, you might notch it down a bit, as it is noticeable.

    Last Nite (The Strokes cover)

Good cover. Best part - The guitars. Least best - lead vocals could have a bit more "growl" in them, and are bit too "pretty" if you're going for his vox. Also, the original had the lead singer over-modulate into, what sounds like a Shure sm57. which gave it a mid-rangey tone.

Looking for some helpful feedback .

Maybe a bit too much reverb across the whole mix (are you using it as glue?). Good playing and singing! Drums sound real enough, but then the tom fills expose the fact that you're using a vst. Overall, balance of instrumentation is good.

Plz LMK About Any Changes I Could Make to Mano a Dios (Hand to God)

Here is a song that has two different grooves, and some synth and guitar. This is a mastered version. Is it ready for a demo CD?

Third song, which is the first song...

On Headphones listened to both Mastered v's gotta say, I like the first mix better less "overthought" and natural - which, imo, is better for this genre.

    Synthtastic

Ok you got the synth and drums and guitar - how about a moog bass?

    Whirlpool - new tunage

I also do double takes and pan on rhythm guitar parts (so disregard my crit on that), but for lead guitar parts, I use some sort of stereolizer so it doesn't sound so "lonely" in the mix.
