Starting Final Mixes: Song 3 - Release

I like this song, reminiscent of a "Tubes" or "Meatloaf" arrangement. Like in most of your mixes, the instrumentation can be "heard", but it lacks body. For example, if I recorded my rhythm guitar parts straight into the board with a distortion pedal, great, I got a guitar part, but if I took...

Starting Final Mixes: Song 1-My Praise

Number 4 is a good, clean mix. Now, though, on not hearing the hi-hat or rides, so imo, could come up. Also, guitars could come up, but just a bit. Is there anyway you could add girth to the lead vocal? Maybe with a plug-in or a second take, and duck it under the first take to taste. Pitch...

You'll Know Why My 1st Name's "Crazy" w This Album Intro Song

Thx B, TM, and VHS. I will have another mix up soon with the following changes. 1) Bring up bass 2) Variation on Drum Pattern (Maybe in a segment or two, do 4 on the floor kicks, and a "wipe out" thing on the floor tom) 3) Edit for time (This was supposed to be my "Eruption" by VH or "Foreplay"...

You'll Know Why My 1st Name's "Crazy" w This Album Intro Song

It's "Create", "Destroy", Beauty, "Love", as in an existential view of the mechanics of the universe - coldly go about either creating or destroying, but as sentient beings, we can find beauty and love in it. I did set out to make a little intro of about 1:30 to 2 minutes long, but I went...

You'll Know Why My 1st Name's "Crazy" w This Album Intro Song

Here is the opening "song" (more like an instrumental) that is purposefully a bit chaotic (hopefully in a fun way) and begins my 10 song album. It is bookend "left", 8 songs, then bookend "right" coming soon. The busy kicks and bass were hard to make play "nice" with each other. There are a...

Theory of Falling (Djent) Opinion ?

Some samples are over modulating a bit into distortion (the bad kind). You could add a bit more bass to the main parts of the song. Love the strings on the outro. Good tune

    Feedback on New Mix?

Re: that OH picking up a slap-back on the snare you could 1) Slide it back to match the hit time of the close mic 2) Put a lo-pass filter on it, so it's less audible, but still functions has something that gives the snare more girth

Starting Final Mixes: Song 2 - Ignite Me

The drums need to up to the front more, imo, and somehow become wider. You have these rhythm guitar parts out on the edges (good), so now you should have plenty of room for more kick, snare, and bass in the middle. The whole mix is sparse and lacks glue. I like this song, and have high hopes...

    Please Critique this Instrument-thick mix

Thanks It is an ambitious mix, with the probability of masking instruments in the same freq range, so I'm going to have feature some elements, while ducking others. the 4 elements that I want to feature are 1) All vocals 2) The harmony solos 3) The two main solos 4) the orchestration In the new...

Two Years Latter after OP, LMKWYT of Class Warfare

I Have thought of laying down some guitar soloing during the chorus where there is no singing. Thx for the compliments, and I'll try to get the vocals to ride on top of the mix better, and work on that snare, Ibleed.

Starting Final Mixes: Song 1-My Praise

Wow, much better. Did you double the bridge vocal? If so, duck it under the main vox a bit, as it makes it less intelligible. Also. the grace notes you used on the second to the last "praise" aren't too good, and negate the pitch correction you employed in the body of the song. You could...

Two Years Latter after OP, LMKWYT of Class Warfare

Here's an update of what I hope is an improvement on how I'm mixing 2 years latter. It's my latest submission of Class Warfare. lmkwyt

    Feedback on New Mix?

I'm I the only one hearing an artifact on the snare? Sounds like a ghost note milliseconds after the initial hit, according to my HP.

    The Top by Meursault

You could take some of the harshness off the snare by running a low-pass filter on it. Also, you cut off the ending abruptly.

Need opinion on recorded acoustic guitar tracks

Good playing. The neck positioning of the mic does offer less boomyness, but your sacrificing some of the body and resonance you could get from putting an additional mic to one side of the hole. I'm hearing some finger artifacts as well. Also, you needed to light up the "Recording" sign, lol...

    Bad Times

Good song, reminiscent of Kraftwork. Bring the synth drums up a bit.

Thanks, DM60 I'll work on getting the vox a bit more upfront

    Classic Rock Tune #2

Bass needs more girth, the drums more presence, and the lead vox a bit less up-front.

My music, written, recorded and mixed by Me (Sorrows Forecast)

This is the musical equivalent of the comedian, Andy Kaufman, who people either thought was terrible, or a genius. This could be the new punk!

    For the Last Time (folk/rock)

Good "roots" music song. The whistle could use a bit of reverb. Could use a harmony in the chorus, but mix 3 is a keeper.
