    "Heaven"

What are you expecting new people to chime in about? To give you mixing ideas that you may not have previously considered for songs of an album 2 years ago? Or are you just trying to promote your music? There's nothing wrong with trying to promote your music but a mixing clinic on a website...

    roller bridges

I have a roller bridge and its very nice indeed. Its handy 'cos its through body strung so I have quite a steep break angle behind the bridge. The one I have provides lots of options for moving back and forth, side to side and up and down so I can really get detailed on the intonation. I had...

    In Market for New Acoustic

What's your budget? I have a Martin Ellipse and I think its absolutely great and not stupidly priced either https://reverb.com/item/1858310-martin-xc1t-ellipse-w-fishman-ellipse-matrix-blend Feels fantastic to play (the 2nd nicest acoustic I've ever played on), sounds great both when you're...

    The New Tone Thread

Fortunately we have some serious fluffers about! The Tone Thread and all of its regular posters and input is back up and running in its new home at: The Recording Rebels - Rebels Main This forum was started mainly by former inhabitants of The Tone Thread for us to discuss how to best record...

    The New Tone Thread

Bullshit, the only person who's posted a tone here since Christmas is Jimi. Steen, calling people butthurt I'm this context just makes you look like a twat... and you're weirdly telling us we have to stay on topic on the tone thread. Lol. Robus went out of his way to piss Greg off and you...

    The New Tone Thread

Cock-Wamble, The tone thread was held together by a sense of community based around diverse users trying to capture the tone they were after when recording. You never contributed so wouldn't know, in fact you even tried to start your own anti-tone thread a few times.. The main purpose of which...

    getting my pickup repaired.

With very hot modern pickups, >16k, you start to get inductance too which counteracts the resistance negating any perceived benefit of a hot pickup. I think there are ways around this but it's something to be aware of.

    The New Tone Thread

Well, the recording review "The Tone Thread" appears to be working well. Greg's posted up his typical Marshall cranked to death tone, another guy is managing to get a great tone out of a 1/4 Watt (yes, one fucking quartar) Vox, and some guy is posting really gainy 80s metal tones (and its not...

"Baby Bitch" by Ween - backing track with guide vocal.

No worries, mate. The last track I posted up is a low priority one to me, it's one of them tracks where I'm not sure if I like it. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. I'll download Baby Bitch in the morning. Listened to the original now, prefer your version.

"Baby Bitch" by Ween - backing track with guide vocal.

Fuck me, mate. This is a Goodun. Love the drum sound, everything stands on its own. Don't know the original well but I'm gonna have a listen now. Wouldn't mind a keeper of this.

Sam Schatz - Original nerd punk inspired by Tron

haha, Steve you tragic nerd! Not a lot to say about this really - its not anyone is really qualified to make an assessment of glitched-out-nerd-punk. Only comment is that the glitch noises could come up a tiny bit when you're not singing. I've got this this stuck in my head now.

    Complicated chords vs "regular" chords

Well done mate, hope rehearsal goes well. I had to do something similar last year learning an album written by a classical musician/pianist. Was a right pain in the arse. Famous Beagle is your man if you want to learn musical theory - if you're just after learning basic, modes/keys and how they...

Like A Stone - Deathmetal cover

Following on from what Steve just said, check out the guitar tone on Edgecrusher. That's heavy as fuck. It's also not too scoopy, and thickly layered, a lot of gain, not silly amounts and really accurate rhythm playing.

D Key - early test mix

Oh, I'll check it out. I'm actually starting to enjoy working on my singing a bit more.
