    Normalize to balance album?

After rendering several songs what is the simplest way to assure they all have the same or similar volumes after being burned to a CD? Do you somehow 'normalize' all the 'masters?

    Cakewalk Studio Instruments

Has anyone tried this with Reaper? Reaper isn't listed as supported but it says: Use it as a stand alone program or with your favorite Mac/PC music recording software like: •Ableton Live™ •Apple GarageBand™ •Apple Logic™ •Cakewalk Music Creator™ •Cakewalk Kinetic™ 2 •Cakewalk Project5™...

    Exporting Wav. Files to mp3?

Thanks, Sounds (and the rest of you guys) now I know to go to render and then LAME. Works like a charm.

Won't allow me to select inputs

I was using Reaper last night. Opened it today and I can hear myself but show no input. When I click to select an input nothing happens. It won't open the mono, stereo, selection box etc. Help. It will show me Midi input options but not mono or stereo. This is weird that it just started doing...

    Exporting Wav. Files to mp3?

Gecko, (or anyone else?) I downloaded the Lame file and put it in the Reaper folder with the Reaper application. I even did a reboot, but Reaper still won't find the dll and tells me to download it....

    Liking Reaper a Lot but..

Thanks, Gecko, that worked great (although I haven't gotten up the nerve or practice yet to rerecord vocal WITHIN a track but I'm getting to it). Can't tell you how much I'm falling in love with this program after spending a week and a half trying to learn the other one. I think I've got...

    Liking Reaper a Lot but..

I finished the 330 page manual today. Whew... I've been playing with multiple tracks, compression, EQ, chorus, etc. and I'm impressed. This is a much more user friendly program than the Cubase my audiogram came with. Everything seems pretty easy to figure out with a little practice except one...

    Phantom input? From where

I've been having static issues between my recently purchased audiogram 6 and Cubase AI4 so I thought I'd try Reaper. I just tried recording a track and it showed me that it was getting input saw lots of little hills and valleys, but playing back I could hear nothing. Where do I tell it which...

    Registering with Steinberg

To be perfectly honest (and not to hurt the feelings of any of the nice people on this forum who have helped me with it) I'm wondering if Cubase is the right match for me. It seems to be a system hog and does all sorts of neat 'professional' type tricks that I know I will never use. I simply...

    Registering with Steinberg

Anybody else had this problem? I've been trying to register with Steinberg for a week. I go through the rigamarole on their registration page, then when I type in the security code it loops me back and tells me I put the code in wrong. The thing is (and this is rather nifty in a Twilight Zone...

    Hard Disk Too Slow?

Hmmm. I am recording to an external harddrive that is nearly new so I'll have to go research its specs. That said I think I found one of the problems. I turned on my resource monitor under task manager and Cubase was barely tweaking the CPU. When I recorded a stereo track it was using less than...

    ASIO 'upgrade' for Cubase AI4

Thanks. Part of the problem was my learning curve again. I figured I could just play and sing a track and then add everything to it. Didn't bother with the metronome or figuring out tempo... Once I learned to record that track with the metronome everything got easier by half.

    Setting up Mono Tracks

I'm really getting frustrated. I rebooted and tried to record one track of singing. Before I was half done even though the VST monitor showed no usage whatsoever I was getting the staticy kind of purring click in my ear. Why would this get worse after working for a few days and letting me record...

    Setting up Mono Tracks

I should add that I closed that error window and went ahead and recorded the track. The VST little monitor never told me I was overloading the disk this time, in fact it never moved. But I began to get static. Every time I opened the device manager and told my Yamaha to go to highest latency...

    Setting up Mono Tracks

Here's a screenshot. I closed the computer and reopened running nothing but Cubase. I imported the audio file of the guitar and computer and before I could even finish setting up a new mono track I got this...

    Hard Disk Too Slow?

So. I figured out my latency issues by using the metronome. Even managed to add a drum track. Now I have a new issue.... I know. It's endless. I started a new project and recorded one stereo track of vocal and guitar. No issue. Then halfway through adding a mono track of 1 background vocal the...

    Setting up Mono Tracks

I can see now that Cubase is going to be a long learning curve even without adding in drums. I can't seem to get it to give me sound in both ears even when recording on a stereo or a mono track and it will not do anything when I move the slide bar on the mixer above the track to move sound from...

I use that moniker on a few forums and EZWRITR is also the license plate on my motorcycle.
