    Your guitar is fine, your amp is fine. Move the mic away from the amp 3 feet. See if that helps. Aim it in different directions, try everything.

    I use compression to make something more bold, like a lead vocal or bass. It's also helpful for pushing something to the back without it disappearing, like vocal harmonies.

    Could it be the power supply? On mine, both the DC cord and the input on the recorder have bad connections after years of use. Try to move the cord around with the machine on and see if that makes a difference. You may just need a new adaptor.

    Hey Brian, I have the BR-864 - the older model. If you recorded with the metronome, you can enable the rhythm track and choose a preset. You probably didn't though because in order to use the metronome you must enable the rhythm track and scroll down to the correct click for the song (4/4, 3/4...
