If I were a Cubase guy...

I think one of the royer ribbon mics uses phantom power, but only because it has some funky preamp sort of thing in it. But other than that, I haven't heard of any.

    10" speaker for heavy guitars?

My main amp that I use for recording has 3 10" speakers, and it does fine with the heavy stuff, as far as I can tell. Although I guess I've never really used 12-ers, so maybe I don't know what I'm missing.

    SM57 for bass cabs

Just to check, it is actually a bass cab you are using, not a guitar cab with a bass head, right? You can blow out your cab if you do that.

    Babicz Guitars

http://www.babiczguitars.com You have to check out this guy's guitars. He uses a couple of cool ideas on construction, mainly the idea of having an adjustable height neck on an acoustic, and spreading the tension from the strings over a wider area of the soundboard, as opposed to just having...

Changing machine heads on a Les Paul - diy?

Nah, I think he's talking about the nut that helps secure the tuner to the headstock, like nuts and bolts, as opposed to the nut that is the 0 fret or whatever you wanna call it.

    bass drum outside mic

I would keep the bass drum outside of the mic. If you try to put it inside, you would have to modify the case, and you would have a huge honkin' microphone. Postioning that thing would be a bitch.

    Freezing effects on wav track?

Oh, my bad. I was thinking that the freeze function might work. Since it passes audio through a reverb, and then applies the output of the reverb to a track, I don't see why it wouldn't do the same thing using Drumagog. EDIT: Damn, I'm stupid. You already had freeze in your title. I would...

    Snake

What's the over and under method? Obviously a way of wrapping cables, but I'm just curious as to what it is specifically.

    Freezing effects on wav track?

Why not? :D If that fails, you could always just do an audio export of just that channel, although that is more time consuming.

    noise reduction

over a soundblaster and a creative labs microphone....most definitely yes, but just as important (if not more) is learning how to use these new tools once you get them. Read up on some recording techniques. Once you combine that with your new gear, you can be amazed.
