    raising overall level while automated

No, no, that's not what I meant. You should try moving the actual points on the automation track. Here, just zoom out like this, select all of the points (see how they're red?). Then just click on one and drag it up or down, wherever it needs to go. Then they will all move as a group. I...

    Really annoying feature... fix?

If I understand you correctly, you could just use the glue tool to make them all into one "block", and then move it that way. Assuming you don't want to keep the blocks seperate, that is.

    Headphones?

That's what I do for drums right now. Cheap, works pretty well, and SAVES YOUR EARS. That's the main reason I do that. After finding out about these MoreMe's, I think I know what I'm buying next.

    raising overall level while automated

Master fader. EDIT: Oh, oh, I see what you mean now. I misinterpreted the question. I knew it couldn't be that easy.Hmm, maybe you can just zoom way out and select all of the automation points as a group and raise them all that way.

    Sonar and Behringer DDX3216

The number of channels that you can record simultaneously depends on the interface you would get. Check out www.m-audio.com for some interfaces. Many people on here like and use these interfaces. I would take a look at the Delta 1010, a lot of people like that model.

New songs in 6/8.. how is it?

I listened to "It's Gonna Catch Up With You" (I think that's what it's called, the end of the song name gets cut off). Sounds like good, solid drumming. Supports the rest of the band well, but it's still interesting. Nothing particularly fancy, but I think I like it better that way. More...
