    ART tubepac compressing

It seems the sound is better when the -12 is flashing. YOu would think it would sound really squashed. ?????? mutt

    ART tubepac compressing

Thanks for the tip. Do you understand how the LED meters work? The manual speaks to the top of the display being the levels for setting the gain control, but it doesn't talk about the numbers at the bottom (-12 -6 -3 0db). I notice when I increase the compression by turning the threshold...

    ART tubepac compressing

Anyone out there know how to set an ART tubepac to equal a 0db digital threshold when recording vocals to a TASCAM 564 digital 4 track recorder? I'm trying to avoid the distortion which comes from going above 0db on the TASCAM but still keep a good strong signal. Is there a basic setting for...

I have a Kurzweil PC88MX which I really like. Of course, it's about 3 or 4 years old and they may have developed something better by now, but I like it. mutt

    Good lyrics? Judge me

PILSMAN You related to LL's lyrics?? Really?? Oh, wait a minute - I see ---- you're from "Kaiserslaughter" so that makes sense. But I could be wrong. Is the town's name "Kaiser-slaughter" (as in slaughter, which makes me understand how you can relate to the lyrics) or is it...

    How to write good lyrics

Okay - that was pretty shallow of me. So, to help you with your original lyrical statement, try this: Let go let go let go (etc.) Why so why so why so Don't know Don't know Don't know So-so? so-so? so-so? Maybe so maybe so maybe so If so if so if so Can do can do can do (I...

    Cakewalk & Compaq??

I don't have a line in - just a mic in and a headphone out

    Cakewalk & Compaq??

Yes - I can record to cakewalk if I hook a cheapo Radio Shack computer mic directly to the mic input on the computer, but when I connect using my TASCAM as a board connected to the 1/8 mic in on the computer, I get a very faint signal. I've turned everything up as far as it will go. :( mutt

    Cakewalk & Compaq??

I can't seem to record into Cakewalk with my Compaq Presario 2200. It has a cheap soundcard with only a 1/8" mic input (no line in). I've connected my mic (SM58) to my TASCAM 564 4 track, then from the line outs of the TASCAM to the mic in on the computer. I've checked to make sure the mic...
