    Monitors and DP-02

Hosa makes a stereo cable with 1/4" on one end and RCA on the other. I was able to pull mine partially apart without cutting.

    GFS Mean 90 Neck Bucker

If you meant to order the bridge version and got the neck by mistake I'd say go with it. The neck has a slightly cleaner wind but it will still be much fatter than a tele pickup. Great sounding pickup!!

    TASCAM DP-02CF Portastudio

What I don't get is it would take no money for Tascam to stick a couple of Burr-Browns or something in there and then they could crow about the great preamps and sell more units??

    TASCAM DP-02CF Portastudio

...so it's not necessary to front-end the DP-02cf with something like a DMP-3 to get a decent result using dynamic or ribbon mics?

    DP-02 preamps?

Looking at getting a DP-02cf and curious if the preamps are good enough not to need to front-end it with something like a M-Audio dmp-3?

How About A Biodiesel Bus For Touring???

Yeah, I'm not very good at putting the ol' thoughts into words. I'll let others do it for me: The Hydrogen Economy isn't Coming Soon May 14, 2005 8:00 AM - hydrogen.jpgIn the race for the replacement of fossil fuels, a lot of people are betting on hydrogen. Others consider it a shill for the...

How About A Biodiesel Bus For Touring???

Hydrogen is just a energy delivery system. It's not a source of energy. Electric power is hugely more efficient than fuel cells or combustion engines and there are LOTS of ways to produce electricity cleanly. All we need are better batteries and everything will go electric.

drum machines: zoom rt-223 vs. zoom mrt3b

The mrt doesn't sound as good as the other Zooms. The Alesis is vastly inferior to the Zoom models.

What is your opinion on DR strings?

Their bass strings are great but I had a couple of sets of the guitar strings that had totally dead strings right out of the package. I called the guy up and he asked "WHO I was"... guess I wasn't important enough 'cause he offered no remedy.

    Gretsch Streamliner

The Electromatic Hollowbody is more authentic/better constructed. About the same price.

Best replacement for the Sovitek 12AX7 tube for my Presonus TubePre

Been there, done that. Swapping tubes is a waste of time-nothing is gonna make the Tubepre sound warm. The ART stuff does the cheap tube thing better, IMO. The TubePAC is especially nice as a bass DI.

Tascam DP-01 series (users out there, a little help if u will)...

Sound quality is fine on both machines but everything is nicer on the Tascam-headphone amp, faders, etc. A word of warning about the Yamaha-it is VERY hard to use. I had one for about a week and even with the manual I never figured out how to record anything. We seem to have the same...

Tascam DP-01 series (users out there, a little help if u will)...

I've just started using mine, big step up from my MR-8. I skipped the FX version since I have a DMP3 and a couple of compressors. I plan to get a M300 at some point. I'm a technophobe and find it's a very useable machine. Various frequencies can be selected for the two band eq. Hard drive is...

Tascam DP01 FX - What do you think ?

I'm just getting started with my DP01. It absolutely kills the MR-8 I was using. Got it off ebay new for under $300. Looking at the manual I'm glad I didn't get the FX version-seems heavy on "special effects" presets. IMO the extra cash would be better spent on a decent preamp like the DMP3...
