Mhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
You'll find a Shure SM57 in every world class studio.
I've used it on:
combo amps, guitar cabinets, bass amps, acoustic guitars, vocals.
Even a violin once. You name it.
Learn to use stuff before you diss them dude.

I don't agree that the kick is too floppy.
It's suits this type of music. It could be a bit tighter but nothing major.
The drum sounds are very good imo.
I agree that the bass needs some crispiness.
The guitar is a bit tinny.
You ned to double the main guitar (the riffs) and pan one left other...
Well you cann't run a unbalanced line for 30m (live 4 exmpl).
And for furthermore.....
What you are trying to do is a FOH engineers nightmare.
Let's say I set up your clean vox so the monitoring and the FOH sound is perfect and now you plug in the distortion on your dandy FX box, but the level...
We have one (602) in our reh room and it overheated to the point that the volume went down and we had to stop ;).
Plugged it in after a few mins and it was OK so we continued.
I have had no problems with my 4 year old MX2642 tho.
Ppl don't like the mic preamps on them which do sound a bit...
And the bottom line is it doesn't matter what's written on it or what other people think about it. If it works for you use it and screw everyone else. ;)

I actually rated 5 9 & 10 the same...... 10 points. ;)
First I did like the B2 the most... but then when I started to put them in order I couldn't pick the best out of the three......
And I gave 9 points to NT1000 ;)

And this is exactly why you get loud p's (I said piss ;)) in your vocals.
Micing angles are the only thing you can rid of the p and s without using EQ's or de essers.
And imo it's not very smart to put a LD mic so close to the singer thet a loud P bottoms it out.
And if the P is making your...
OK took a listen. Don't laugh :)
My fav is #5
I also liked #9 #10 #11 (they have that kind of a sound I like on vocals) Cann't hear much of a difference between 10 and 11 tho.
least favourite was #13 (sounds dull)
also didn't like #1 and #2 (boomy imo)
The rest have really cool different...
Very nice!
The only thing that bothered me is the HISSSSSSSSSSS!!!! :)
But otherwise very nicely mixed....
Songwise I liked Morning Light..... Very atmospheric
Keijo
95% of metal vocals are done by the singers. No FX no BS.
Sometimes they use some distortion or lofi, but that sounds different.
Practice!!!!! :)
