Got me, a reply notification just showed up in my email so I decided to mention the Blueridge 180 that I'm very ghappy with at the moment.. It's a good thread.., no harm done with refreshing it at all..

Blueridge is making some great guitars. I haven't used my BR180 in the studio yet but I'm expecting it to sound very good.

For soundcard you defintely want to go the firewire route with a laptop, that the overwhelming consensus from the many views I've read on the laptop-external soundcard issue.

I would agree that a guitar is often as good as the person playing it but I don't know how many Martin D-28 copies I've had, some very good, others not but the real Martin HD-28 I just got completely outclasses them all by a huge margin.., sometimes you just gotta step up to the plate and pay...

You can pick up a Japanese made stat copy on ebay for around the $100 range pretty regularly, some are better than the Strats selling for $500+ range. Samicks can be had for less than $100 to and they'll last. This FirstAct guitar is garbage, don't throw your money away on one.
