Another 'New' brand of microphone??? Check it out.

I'm surprised maudio hadn't trademarked that one - solaris, luna, helios The design reminds me a bit of these: http://www.thomann.de/index.html?partner_id=97926&page=thoiw6_the_tbone_retro_tube_prodinfo.html...

Vocal mic for our singer (clips inside)

He definitely needs some training he suffers from hard glottal attack that causes him to choke up on relatively low notes, I'd be surprised if he can survive two gigs in a row or an intensive recording session without a weeks vocal rest.

need preamp for acoustic, vocals + DI box for electric

The yamaha desk is a good idea too but the DMP3 is definitely a step up. You'll never regreat buying the DMP3, you always have applications for a clean pre with plenty of gain.

    Digital....Disappointment

All equipment introduces distortion, the highly prized analogue classics happen to do it in a way thats pleasing to the ear. Now if only there were an easy way to cut and paste 2" tape I'd certainly consider that route :p

    Fair price on used V67g?

I think the one he was talking about didn't come with a shockmount. The shockmount will probably cost $20 if you buy it seperately, so definitely buy one with the shockmount. You will need a pop filter too if you're recording vocals, wind instruments etc.

I wouldn't pay more than $70 and accept slower shipping

Try contacting both directly and via ebay, I have had peoples spam filters swallow several e-mails for no reason whatsoever.

    Rode NT1 Or Rode NT3?

You can't get decent gain on the presonus without turning up the tube gain, its a very noisy unit - it has about the same noise as the old Behringer MX desks. The VTB1 give lots of decent clean gain and you can blend as much tube sound as you like.

    Power supply problem

Woo Yay! Congratulations Phil, that was a good purchase then you should be proud. DOH! I'm a ninny :o

The Rode NT1 Or The Shure KSM27?

The presonus preamp is very noisy when you whack up the gain, if they had spent the same effort on the circuitry as they did on the colourful leds and blue anodised aluminium it might have been a great product. If you bought the nt1 and vtb1 on ebay you should be able to bring it in just above...

    An arsenal of dynamics!!!

The RE-10, 15, 16 all have 'bass tilt' switch to reduce handling noise. The RE-18 has no bass tilt switch but seems to be internally shock mounted. The RE-16 has definite presence boost vs RE-18
