Yes I definitely prefer multi-tracking when recording the philharmonic in the local public toilet.

Stereo pairs or the multi-capsule version might be going for $300 but they certainly never sold for $99.

Best way to stick a piezo transducer to a vibrating element?

The contact material should be dense, the closest thing I can think of to the stuff supplied by akg and others is self-amalgamating tape (butyl rubber). I havn't tried it myself - the only stuff I have is on the TV antenna about 40ft up on my chimney :)

    Decent Mic Suggestions

Is the as100d going to be your only source of amplification or are you going through a PA. vocal booth option????

Man, that is ugly! Unless you want your vocals for sound like they are recorded in a vacuum I find a couple of strategically placed gobos are a better solution. That is of course assuming you don't live next to a building site or four lane highway.

Guilty of buying cheap mic stands.

Some venues here video each concert for a small charge, can be very handy in finding out who's walked of with your mic or pedal!

Guilty of buying cheap mic stands.

If you have a bar bell from more macho times thread one of the larger weigths onto the upright bar of the stand. The added weight resting on the tripod should make it much more stable

    hihats suck

Well if your relying on the off axis response of the 414 to pick up the high-hat it's the higher frequencies will be attenuated most and thus no crispness
