Get a used peavey bravo. $250 used on ebay right now. Use the buy it now. It's well worth it, and with the gain in has you will need no distortion pedal. The price will just go up over the next few years. I've seen people asking $500 for them :eek:

Did they use to make groove tubes in the U.S.? The carvin I have has groove tubes in it, and that's what they shipped with back in 92'.

Old RCA's are nice and last a long time. I don't know why the older tubes sound better. Maybe they used better materials then.

Where I live, there is no place that does this for 100 miles in each direction, maybe 200 miles. So with gas prices, or even sending a neck through the mail, and the cost of a refretting would buy the tools, heck, maybe I might be good at it. I think it would be nice to learn. I will read...

This Kramer focus I have is actually a nice guitar with a real floyd rose on it. the frets are getting pretty low, and the do need replaced. I jack with everything else on the guitar, and I have a drill press. I think I saw a tool a stew mac that allows your drill press to install the frets...

I recorded them on my computer (which is not on the internet) and put them on c.d. Then I put the c.d. in the laptop (which is on the internet) and real player, and window's media player say they can't play them. What can I do? I suck with computer stuff by the way.

I recorded a clean and a gain version of the amp I bought. I then put it on a rewritable c.d. and put it on the laptop which is hooked to the internet. but the laptop won't play it, I've tried Real Player, Windows media, they say they can't play it. What's up with that? By the way I suck...

The computer I do recording on is not hooked to the internet. I have to put it on c.d. and then transfer it to the laptop. I work on that and try to post tonight.

It's loud on the 100 watt setting. Needs a 412 cab for that, and a Celestion Anniversary in the combo for the 25 watt setting. It gets just about any sound an amp could get. I have never had an amp with all these bells and whistles. The "slider" e.q. actually works, with just a little tweak...

Have you ever heard of Curt-Mitchell? He does all those Riff/In the style of videos. That's where I got the teminology of Hammer on, Tapping. I know this, Eddie didn't name them.

I have small hands compared to most, and I hate flat radiused necks with wide nuts. I am thinking of getting a nice birdseye maple strat neck done with a small nut width, but with a U profile. anyone have anything like this?

I printed out the manual from the carvin site. I'll go through it. It was so old I never thought there would still be one. There are some scetchy schematics I found for free too. Hard to read though. I looked in the amp last night, and thought it's not a handwired board, it looks well put...

Can the dB switch be in a wrong position? Does it correspond with the 25,50,100 watt switch? This amp is chock full of stuff.
