I will be using the SSD drive as my OS drive, adding it to my 2...
Wondering if anyone has built a muliti-core server, something to compare to the Mac Pro 8 core.
I am considering building a server w/twin Xeon 5506 Quad processors.
Suggestions?
Vista seems to be going the way of ME, in that nothing seems to work well with it....except SONAR.
SONAR has been compatible with Vista since ver 6, while ProTools still has not hit the shelves with a supported Vista version. Cubase 4 has Vista support, but depending on when your local...
Sonar 5 or 7...
With the addition of 64bit processing in 6, Cakewalk treaded on ground that users of systems like Cubase and ProTools wouldn't see for almost two years. They also made improvements to the multi-processor support feature, i.e. thoe only system to utilize more than two...
OK, so once again I find myself fighting the logic of why anyone would purchase a MAC.
The current issue is that I have a Mac setup with Digital Performer and a Yamaha Motif ES8. I am using the MOTU FastLane USB/MIDI interface. I have successfully been able to record a MIDI track once. Since...
With "mix" being the topic, and not the personal taste of the use of extended fading, IMHO:
The ambiance of the drum mix was very favorable, it also had a smooth transition as the instruments built up in the mix at around 3:45. I did notice low levels of the instruments that shared the same...
C,
Great mix on the low end. The vocals fit nicely in the mix, never overpowering, nor faint. The vocal effects are where they need to be. The hi-mids (snare and clav?) come across a bit distracting; there are a lot of vocals to that track, so cutting them in the 6k-8k a bit might keep those...
My Studio
Here's what I've built the over the last 4 years. The mixer rests comfortably on an a 2'x4' piece of MDF atop a keyboard stand. The monitors on, yes, a bookshelf on it's side. My rack effects are, in fact mounted to a similar, smaller shelf which resides faithfully on a Wal-Mart TV...
Ok, this is my first post on here that is subject to critique. I have put more into this than anything else I have written/recorded.
The track in question here is "Disguises"
Do your worst!
...and thank you in advance, as I appreciate your unbiased responses...
Your MIDI in is used for recording the events from an external source, say your MIDI keyboard, or drum triggers. If you don't have any external source, you can leave it to none and "paint" your drum patterns in the Piano Roll view.
The output needs to go to wherever your actual sound is going...
I have used the Alesis SR-16 for the last few years. I have become quite comfortable with it and am very pleased with the sound quality and "natural" voices that it has. I do all of my MIDI triggering through my recording software, so, to me, the internal song creation and memory is a headache...
I had a similar problem with a Panasonic laptop that I used a few years ago. After some digging on their website, I found that the laptop design had a flaw and the power was being grounded to the chassis. So, my two cents, check the laptop manufacturer for such a thing; I can't imagine the...
I have a 1010LT also, which has a MIDI interface built in. When I started dabling in midi, it was the differences in the terms used to describe the language, i.e. program changes, banks, channels, etc. Your 1010 is good for the job, so you question should be Traktion specific.
