    CDR Data/Music, the difference?

it depends on the manufacturer. I have seen some that guarantee 300 years of shelf life. thats why the LOC uses them for archival purposes.

    signal loss problems

Recently, I attended a show of my friend's band with my MR-8. The sound for the show was already being handled by a sound company so I was planning on just plugging in to one of the sound guy's MASTER OUTS from his big board and on in to my MR-8. Theoretically this would work great, but the...

MR-8 and CF upgrade cards - User Experiences

I was at Fry's today and for some reason i got the notion to just try my luck with one of those generic CompactFlash cards. On the way home i started regretting it because I know the MR8 is picky. I went for the gusto and just bought one. a 512 Mb version. $159.99. Well much to my surprise, all...

    Fostex MR-8 recording

I don't here any beeping or clicking in this recording. I do have a tip though: Encoding MP3s to 320 is overkill. 192 is the most encoding you will need for your recordings.

    Windows 98

Windows XP/Me/2000 ship stock with a USB MASS STORAGE DEVICE DRIVER. If windows 98 had one built in, the mr-8 would work fine. I have been looking for one for Windows 98 every where on the net, I've installed this one that Fuji made for one of their cameras but it didn't work. Just thought I...

To paraphrase that: there are no drivers for Windows 98 or 98 SE. You need to get a CompactFkash USB card reader.

    SYNCing problems with Ntracks

So I am done with a project and I moved all my wavs to my computer to try out N Tracks. Now that I have them all loaded in to my N Tracks project file, I have to slide them to the right place to sync em up. Since my first beat wav started at 00:00:00.00, I could just import and leave it. But...
