yeah that method is used alot. running "guide tracks" of guitar and even maybe vocals to the drummer while he drums. it makes for perfect drum recordings for dubbing over.

gospel i think you're right about the signal degredation factor. by the time the last track was layed down, the whole project would would sound like 56K streaming audio. yuck.

Yes it does. Amongst quite a few other things that the mr-8 doesn't have. But it doesn't work with a PC as easily as the mr8 does. Since the data is stored internally on the vf80 and the fact that it has no USB port, it seems more like a stand-alone unit. I'm sure you could transfer tracks...

I went to Guitar Center to play on my drum set and while I was there I was going to pickup those digital Edirols. But come to find out, they didn't carry them at that particular store. Anyone have any idea why? Does GC not carry any Edirol products?

So does anyone know exactly how the 'powerful' button changes the EQs. I would like to know so I could do it myself when I get the raw (non EQed) WAVs on to my computer. The manual doesn't help much.
