    problem with jack

This seems like poor design or a defect. Has anyone ever seen anything like this? The nut does not have an even surface to mate against, as you can see in my illustration. Any advice? Thanks.

For drummers who tune to notes.

Philgood, I agree with all you say. I would call myself a beginner and the reason I am tuning to notes is mainly for reference. ex...'hmm, last time i recorded it was a 'c', i didn't like that, i'll tune it to 'a' this time'. But, I still end up tuning each head in uniform to the note, so the...

For drummers who tune to notes.

As a singer/guitar player I am naturally "note-oriented" and tune my drums as such by listening to sine wave from a keyboard. I am curious as to your own preferred tuning configurations. What size shells/what notes/intervals between toms. I'm not interested in a debate on how to tune, I've...

    tuning 10" yamaha tom

got it The top head had just come totally loose, and the heads had to build up tension again. This drum has a joint lugs, instead of independent lugs. That may have had something to do with it. It was a matter of flipping the drum over and over and retuning until they met each other.

    tuning 10" yamaha tom

This is driving me crazy. If I tune the top head where I want it, the bottom head raises in pitch. If I then tune the bottom head where I want it, the top head lowers in pitch. Advice please? (I am trying to tune these heads to a 'D').

    atomic humbuckers?

As it turns out, this thread is kind of unnecessary. The seller has the original pickup as well and will include it. So I get to pick! Thanks.

    atomic humbuckers?

Thanks for your response. Actually, I am purchasing a guitar exactly like the one in the image, except one of the pickups has been replaced, and I want to restore it to the original. see here... http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/msg/259039491.html

    atomic humbuckers?

Can someone tell me what kind of pickups these are? The description says "Atomic Humbuckers" but whereever I find search they have a different appearance. Are these just chrome covers or something? Does anyone know where I can buy the pickups shown in this image? Thanks...

    modifying fender toronado..

I absolutely love the style of these guitars, and I've been considering purchasing one. I do use a tremolo bar, and I am wondering if I can swap the hardware off the toronado to add a tremolo bar. Can it be done? Is it a bad idea? Should I settle for a strat? Thanks.

    toronado

i have a hohner solid-body and it doesn't seem to be cutting it anymore. I am bending and pulling more these days and I need something that will stay in tune for the most part, (though I always tune in between songs). I really like the fender Jaguar styling, and the fender toronado is kind of...

    qs6 question

If you're familiar with the Alesis qs keyboard, or synths in general, maybe you can help. This is not a universal problem, just with one program I am working on. I can't find what setting is causing this problem. It is an aftertouch issue. If I press the key firmly, the sound decays quickly...

    yamaha stage custom hardware question

I have a 5-piece Yamaha Stage Custom Kit. The lowest tom has a standard mount fixed to it's shell. I'm assuming this was designed to float from a cymbal stand. Can anyone confirm this? I see the tom ball clamp at Yamaha's site...

    hi-hat adjustment

I have a Yamaha hi-hat stand. I was missing the metal brace at the bottom and a Yamaha representative was kind of enough to send me one free of charge. He told me it was an HS-740 model. The problem I'm having is that when I let the pedal up, the bottom piece tops out and you hear the top...

    piccolo snare?

I'm a little confused as to what is the purpose of piccolo snare. It seems that it's main purpose, with it's short depth, would be to resound less, for a quick attack/decay. I've read that the depth of a drum is responsible for articulation and resonance. On the other hand, marching snares...

    piccolo snare?

may I ask what type of piccolo snare you used? just curious. Was the volume adequate? I have a couple snares, wood 5.5X13 and a steel 6.5x14, I'm gonna experiment with those some. Also, I was thinking of finding a clear head for the batter side, wouldn't this give me a brighter attack sound...
