need serious advice about acoustic guitar choice (martin, taylor, blueridge, fender)

I have had 3 acoustic guitars - a fender acoustic with a neat california headstock which had a nice sharp tone but eventually fell off of a cliff, kinda killing the intonation permanently.. Its now in montreal with my ex-gf (symbolic eh?) then i got a bean blossom acoustic to fill the gap...

    Multi-Track Recorder or Software???

nothing comes close to a software solution when it comes to home recording. I suggest www.reaper.fm You can easily see many tracks at once, editing is a snap, effects can be easily viewed in chains, and so much more. Power is limited only to your computer setup, which can be cheap to get a...

May be going to Mac or Vista

vista works great for audio, but if i were you i would wait for windows 7... just check compatibility and make sure your audio interfaces have drivers. Ive run vista and its awesome, but windows 7 blows it away.

    Vista 64 bit . . . too new ??

im not totally following what you are saying. there are two different issues here: drivers and programs. 32 bit drivers willl NOT work in vista 64. drivers are the software that makes your hardware (for instance your usb interface) communicate with the OS, to put it non-scholarly...

Do you really buy that expensive recording software?

re: reaper - many ppl who think its midi isnt all that great are usually the ones who dont spend enough time with it - there is a learning curve, due to a tool-less approach -- but its fast and does everything i need it to do. no score editor yea, the great majority of reaper users didnt want it
