I would like to go to the Crossroads and sell my soul!

Metal Head? My influences are The Beatles, The Zombies, Jeff Buckley, Tim Buckley, Elliott Smith, David Bowie, Marc Bolan, The Smiths, The Cocteau Twins, Stone Roses, Duran Duran, Small Faces etc. Some great metal bands there...not! Do I give the impression of being a metal head? I hope not...

    Robert Johnson's Deal

By the way, what kind of guitar did Robert Johnson use? I'm guessing it was a cheap piece of crap that he made sing so well. Also, did anybody ever find out what happened to Robert? Some say he was killed in a fight over a woman and some say the devil came and took him.

I would like to go to the Crossroads and sell my soul!

Seriously, I want to do what Robert Johnson and Blind Lemon Jefferson did, where is this crossroads where I can meet the devil and barter with him for an outstanding musical talent? I'm ready and willing to sign this deal.

Tekker, That is a little risky as it is not considered a 'legal' copyright.

    Robert Johnson's Deal

Dust My Broom is a killer tune. Listening to Robert Johnson gets me the goosebumps. Without him there might not have been a Beatles.

Getting My Original Material To Artists

Your name, "Repeat Offender" is certainly apt, as you have repeatedly offended me every time you unleashed your keyboard. And to answer your question, yes I am a Design Engineer by trade. Good Day.

Getting My Original Material To Artists

Hey, Nobby! Don't take it out on me because you have the worst command of grammar that I have ever seen displayed by an adult. Your original sentence is so incoherent that I can't even read between the lines to understand what you are trying to say. ps. Try hitting your "Caps Lock" button.

All Songwriters Read And Stand Up

As a prolific songwriter I have found Napster a blessing, it finally gives me chance to download songs from all the artists I had considered buying but obviously I can't afford 50 cd's per week. If I enjoy the artist then I buy the cd, yes I may burn compilations for myself, so what. As far as...

    Attention MP3.COM Bashers

It's an interesting situation, I'm not sure if you guys know this, but MP3.com really needed to show a profit, so to do so, they are trying to stiff us all for $20 a month, which means if even 3% of thier users sign up for this, they stand to make over $14 million in a year in revenue. A pretty...

    Good songwriters?

How Steely Dan won that Grammy, I will never know, mediocre generic rock I would call it. I also don't understand why Carlos Santana won all those awards, all he does is play a few riffs, he doesn't do much of the writing. Abraxas was his best work anyways.

    Any Producer you Want?

I think Mutt Lange is the master of "Over-Production", yes his stuff sounds very polished but sometimes over the top. He obviously knows what he's doing though. As a side note he get's to bone Shania as well!

    Any Producer you Want?

If you could have the choice of any producer for the wonderful songs you have created who would you choose? My choice would be Andy Wallace the man behind the desk for Jeff Buckley's awesome album 'Grace'. If it were still the 60's then obviously it would be George Martin.

Britney Spears, 'N Sync and others

Duran Duran are masters of quality pop music, they wrote all their own material, chose their own producers and the band were very gifted musicians. I don't understand how that can be compared to New Kids on the Block or Britney or Nsync. Duran Duran were a real bonafide musical group, not a...

    Arraignments?

Well, I think Van Halen were one of the worst metal bands of the 80's and I always found the production empty and that Eddie had way too much reverb on his guitar. And David Lee Roth would be more suited to being part of the rat pack. Now take a band like "The Cult", they really rocked!
