    my very first recording

Julien, I didn't notice any Scottish accent on the song! Too bad, that would have been great. You've got a pleasant voice, nice. It's a nice song, pleasant is the word that comes to mind. The recording was very good considering it was a 4 track and a good mix from my side of the fence. The song...

why is the clinic so dead lately

PSmith, Whilst there is no need to be nasty, I for one would like an honest opinion of my song. If somebody thinks my song is unoriginal, sang badly and was a waste of time, then I would like to know about it. Otherwise whats the point?

    Great song or too Retro?

I played all the instruments myself except the bass guitar, the mp3 encoding must have messed up the bass on there. I used N-Track as the recorder, so it wasn't recorded live. I liked that slap back verb also, it seems to fit my style of singing. Thanks for the reviews guys.

    Great song or too Retro?

Yes this song is a good example of a guitarist trying to play the drums (without a click track)..lol. However I like the song in itself. Thanks for the review.

    Shakin' the Cold

I listened to "Shakin The Cold". I found it to be a good recording and the musicianship seemed to be a high standard. This song really missed having any vocals (in my opinion). I would try to hook up with a singer if possible to do this song full justice.

check this rap mp3 i made

I don't have time to wade through 3 songs, but how about you list just one song that you would like reviewing, it's kind of the way things are done round here. Also you might wanna try using mp3.com, ampcast.com or iuma.com for reviewing purposes, (people don't want to plow through an unknown...

    Sample-based alterna-pop

Macuser, Because your song was streaming at 128k, it kept jumping on me. Bear in mind a lot of us are on slower connections than you. I did notice the "Sweethome Alabama" sample and the "What A Man" sample by Salt n Pepa/En Vogue. Am I right in saying this is a dance workout of the old Lynard...

    tips on hooks~

I think you'll find it was Mr Paul McCartney that originally said that statement not Noel Gallagher although he may well have taken that advice.

    An Original This Time...

It was 1955 and there was a new singing quartet on the scene called "The Dachays". Sounds great, I can't really critize it. Of course it's not gonna make top 40 until that style of music comes back (which it probably will). A very pleasant uplifting tune. :) The mix sounds fine to me.

    A 2 minute indie/pop song

Yeah I think I need a decent recording mic, perhaps a Rode? They seem to be fairly cheap. The SM58 just doesn't seem to cut it for recording. Thanks for the reviews. Oh yes it was me on the drums again, I used a click track as you suggested and it really helps things stay together.

A short and sweet 2 minute indie/pop song. Comments regarding mixing, performance and the actual song would be highly appreciated. http://www.ampcast.com/search/band.php?id=8917 The song is called "Supersize" Thanks, Roy

    Band name Issue

There was a metal band in 1990 calle Jagged Edge, yet I see that there is now a hip hop band called Jagged Edge. And how about Nirvana in 1968, surely the original Nirvana have some kind of claim against that.

    Band name Issue

I have witnesses to the concert and obviously the clothing clearly shows it was taken in 1982. I really don't wanna give up on this one.

    Band name Issue

When I was 10 years old I was in a band that I gave a cool name to, we did perform publicly on two occasions and have photographic evidence to prove it. My question is: Do I own the rights to this name? Because I have recently discovered that there is a band currently on the scene that uses the...

Mr. Hooper: If an artist can sell a few thousand cd's AND have a huge fanbase, why would that artist even bother signing to a label?

    tips on hooks~

"And just remember what fuckin' language you speek; or attempt to." - Krystof Krystof, As a Northern lad myself, I find your pseudo-macho statements pathetic. You give English people a bad name with your ignorance of life. Also, you need to learn the difference between "They're" and...

New song for all the lonely people

I didn't care for this song too much. I found it reminded me of elevator music or "Easy Listening" (I don't like Easy Listening). The keyboard sound was very dated, you might want to try some different sounds, possibly strings. On the upside, you again did a great vocal performance and...
