The Pultec is the best EQ I've ever used by far. Not that I've used a lot of EQs, but, IMO, it beats the Waves Renaissance EQ, the Sonitus EQ, and the built-in EQ in N-Track (which I longer use.)

I love my SM7 on cabs and vocals. Such a nice mic. And just a tip, I almost never use the included windscreen with it. I use a metal pop filter. It looks really cool without the windscreen, so that's a bonus. :)

Got my T3 last night, and my initial experience with it is very good. Sounded nice on two vocalists. Kind of like a less spitty Rode NTK with multiple patterns.

Does the Firepod have separate line ins? If not, is there anyway to bypass the preamps on the Firepod? If you can't, they will probably affect how much of an improvement you'll see by going to the RNP.

The RNP is a great pre. Well worth the money. I haven't used the Firepod pres, so I don't know how they would compare, but my guess is that the RNP would be a noticeable improvement.
