    FS: AEA R92 Ribbon Microphone

$575 shipped to the US. These sell new for $800. It's in excellent condition and was not used all that much. It's a great mic, but I just don't record that many brass instruments or guitar amps, which is what this mic EXCELS at. When I got a nearly $500 speeding ticket in Oregon, I had to make...

    Violin Mic question

I really, really like my AEA R92 on violin. It was just a touch dark for the last song I recorded, but the R92 takes so well to EQ, I just brightened it up a touch and it was absolutely perfect.

Looking for a good/inexpensive ribbon mic?

False premise. The 205 doesn't necessarily sound better than the 210. It depends on what you want. I sold my Nady RSM-2 (which is the same as the 210) to get an AEA R92, and now I miss it a lot because the Nady is the best glockenspiel mic I've ever used, and I record a lot of glockenspiel...

    screws in a BLUE Mouse

I know you're the one that gave me the negative rep, asswipe. I'm not the only one that finds those pop filters useless. The one I had puts the filter, like, half an inch from the mic. They don't work well there, and I installed it exactly how BLUE said to. I switched to the Stedman, and it...

    MXL 990/991 and Audio Buddy

I just recorded a Steinway with a pair of Josephson C42s, an Audio Buddy and a Behringer USB interface. Turned out pretty damn well, if I do say so myself. Of course, I'm sure it would have sounded better if I had wanted to take my SCA pres out of the rack for this track, but, oh well.

    screws in a BLUE Mouse

I found the Blue pop filters absolutely useless. At least the one that came with my Baby Bottle.

    Seventh Circle Audio?

I completely agree with the choice of the C84. It's so clean and pristine. I love mine.

    Fiddle Microphone?

I never used my Nady RSM-2 on violin, but my guess is, based on using it a lot, it would be really nice. My AEA R92 was phenomenal on violin, but it can't really be had for less than $700, so I guess it's out of your price range.
