Iwont recommend that card ,look into getting a "real" audio card just for music recording,but if price is an option then you could get by with the turtle just bare in mind that the a/d converters probably arent as high of quality as they are in the better cards

Are you using the mic in or the line in?the mic in has a built in preamp that isnt very good,so you should consider using the line in if you have some sort of preamp available if not try turning of the mic boost,if its on that should make it sound a little better,Randy5235

sweepable mids are midrange eq that you can change the affected frequency and yes most plugins incorporate this.

heres the problem,I live in an apartment,thats it really,and oh yeah all i have are tube amps(not that,that is really a problem elsewise),any ideas for recording a good tone?cant get loud enough to even really get the good tone out of the amps,let alone get a good signal/noise ratio on...

Did some more research on both cards,it seems that the 824 has a/d converters on the pci card while the motu does not(therefore indicating less noise in the case of the motu more than likely)also in order to add to the motu you just add a breakout box onto the existing pci card with the 824 you...
