Absolutely. The ones that keep me alive, particularly Metformin, Lantus, and Humalog. Do I recommend them? Yes sir- if you're diabetic. Oh-*recreational drugs*! Only good if music is your recreation. If you just want to have a good time, you'll probably suck, but have a good time playing wasted...
I, too, have spent a ton of money on cables. But- they are all real good cables, and the only one of them that has failed in ten years was destroyed at a live gig. No help for that. You get what you pay for, and caring for your gear, is a good thing. So where have all your cables gone? B.L.U.E...
He's essentially right. The reasons are, as they say, multifactorial. Let's examine this from the perspective of another profession:
" I'm not a surgeon, and I have no experience with surgery other than being a patient. I've got a pretty sharp kitchen knife, but no operating room or specialized...
A Rode NT2a is *not* an upgrade to an AT4040. More of a sideways move. There are lots of *real* upgrades, and not one of them comes cheap. So- as the others have pointed out, you need to know exactly what you intend to do with this mic. But- for a real upgrade to a 4040, you're looking a mics...
Oh no, I understand him just fine, and what he says makes perfect sense, but in the real world. the frets on an SG Supreme (and I think the Les Paul Supreme as well) were almost squared off. I'm presuming that the crowns had enough curvature to have a single contact point, so there shouldn't be...
I think, before the guys got off on the Chinese tangent, they were trying to say that you will outgrow that cruddy little room, but you will never outgrow an SM7b. And it *will* pick up noise. It's a mic. That's what it does. Buy the mic, save your money to treat *a better room*. You'll find...
No big deal. If you play that style, you have the setup done with a flatter profile. Look at the frets on an SG Supreme sometime, and you'll see what I mean. It has tons of sustain, but you can't play The Who on it. Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I've always been a rhythm and...
I'm quite certain my Samick/Epi Les Paul is a better guitar than my 1974 Les Paul Custom, which I sold a long time ago. And they build a really good short horse bow, as well as some functional cheap student bows. Several of my students use them.
Yep, it's a wicked old resurrected thread. But what the hell? It's been 10 years, and sometimes it's worth revisiting. That Samick/Epiphone Les Paul I've got, with the Classic 57 pickups still rocks! Damned perfect intonation! I think a prior owner had a "gnat's ass" fret job done on it. Nice...
Wind screens that are bigger than the foam type, sort of fuzzy, are called "dead cat screens", because that's sort of what they look like. Here's a link:

And yes- a number of my recordings, including some done with an H4n and a pair of AKG C2000b's have ended...
Just get an H4n. The extra features are more than worth the money. 4 tracks, XLR inputs, phantom power, 1/8" jack for camera mics. Mine hasn't let me down much, but I admit the onboard mics need dead cat screens in any kind of wind. I've used it extensively for outdoor choral performances, and...
Unfortunately, that question has already been answered. The Digi003 only supports 18 channels. Anything else would have to be submixed. The simplest solution by far is- get another 003. They should piggyback just fine.
See below, which I posted in another related thread:
I don't know the Digi003 much at all, but I do use a Digi002 and an ADA8000, so here's how it works on my rig. First- sure enough, the ADA8000 isn't a mixer, and there are no inserts. It isn't a mic preamp either, exactly. It's an 8-channel...
I agree. That's why I only use one. Channels 5-10 are serviced by outboard preamps. I use the S/PDIF out on a JoeMeek twinQ for 9-10, and an Avalon and a Pendulum on channels 5-8. But- the OP asked how you would use 2 ADA8000's into a Digi003. I was just pointing out that all of those 1/4" jacks...
Or, as I stated above-on the second 8000, you use mic input to the 8000, ADAT out to ADAT in. and analog line out to the line ins, #'s 5-8, on the Digi. The 002, at least, only has preamps on channels 1-4. Channels 5-8 are line-in only. 9-10 by SPD/IF. Channels 11-18 by ADAT. So- what the second...
