Am I really better than Dylan?

I'm not really that arrogant - just want some reviews of my new song, Future Fool, at www.nowhereradio.com/jonlenin/singles (click discography then singles). Thanking you in anticipation, CJ.

orgasm machine goes haywire - 19 dead

After 33 years of writing songs, maybe my best one - Future Fool, at www.nowhereradio.com/jonlenin/singles. Would love reviews, but please, no more begging letters from record companies.

rock my sex bitch all the way to hell

Thanks for reviews. I had to change the subject title to get anyone to even read this thread (maybe because I mentioned reggae in the last one). As you'll note I'm not really a woman-hating heavy rocker. I agree with all the comments so far (apart from not understanding the bass remark...

live and direct from the home of reggae, Wales

HI folks - anyone want to review my first attempt to apply an MRT3 to an MR8 on www.nowhereradio/jonlenin/singles? It's a kind of reggae thing called Special Christmas Friend and it took me all of three hours solid work. (nb if you prefer something darker try Dangerous Friend instead). ps I...

Christmas single - be afraid, be very afraid

May use that idea for another song, Shocka - I co-wrote this one (discerning listeners may note the change in vocalist as the chorus approaches). My co-writer and I have made a kind of pact to see this thing through. We're in too deep - there's no turning back - no-one can help us now. By the...

Christmas single - be afraid, be very afraid

Praise? My God! Humble thanks. The ending is odd because we recorded the rhythm tracks wrong and had to cut it short and put a dying sheep over to cover the error. But aren't bells something to do with Christmas? I do have a couple more in this vain but haven't committed them to the MR8 yet...

Christmas single - be afraid, be very afraid

For the past few weeks I have been tortured by the question, "can one produce a blatantly commercial Christmas single and still retain artistic credibility?". I have decided to post the matter in question on www.nowhereradio.com/jonlenin/singles so as to seek the opinions of people whose views...

    urgent hi-fi advice sought

Thanks all. Bought it now. Just need to flog a hundred CDs to pay for it. www.nowhereradio.com/jonlenin/singles if anyone's interested.

    urgent hi-fi advice sought

Thanks again folks. I'm not quite broke, but it does mean £500 instead of £350, inc speakers. Recommend those speakers to anyone, by the way - don 't know if they sell in the States. The UK consumer association (Which) rates the cheap Sony as good as the NAD - don 't know what that says. nb if...

    urgent hi-fi advice sought

Thanks for advice so far. I've no question the NAD equipment is good - it's just how the entry level Sony stuff (as mentioned) compares. Anyone know anything on this? How much does that Yamaha cost, by the way? I can get the Sony for about £85 (I think that's about 120 dollars)

    urgent hi-fi advice sought

I need a decent budget system so I can properly hear the CDs I'm recording. I've settled on some B&W DM303 speakers - excellent at £180 - now the shop's trying to sell me a NAD amp and CD player to go with it. I've read reviews that say Sony's entry level amp (TAFE 230) and CD player give as...

increase your manhood with english f**k

Thanks all. Yes, I think I've got the message about the reverb by now. A slight problem I have in judging the panning/mix generally is that I have neither decent headphones or stereo - will try to rectify when have £££. If anyone's got the time to listen to any of the other stuff on...

increase your manhood with english f**k

Thanks WATYF - I'll try that. At the risk of sounding ignorant, how do I compress the vocal?

increase your manhood with english f**k

Chris - does everyone on this forum hate reverb? I'm not really a singer so I'm just trying to tart it up any way I can given the limitations of a Fostex mr8. I was aiming at a kind of ethereal sound but never mind. A lot of people comment on the guitar sound I get - that's just luck I think...

increase your manhood with english f**k

Thought it was time to put something new on www.nowhereradio.com/jonlenin/singles so here is New Year Song, a kind of english folk song with a few rough harmonies left in because everything is far too slick these days. Please feel free to savage, or even like.

What's with the two dead wave files?

Theres's a second wave file created so that the UNDO function can operate, but this is deleted if you 'delete unused files'. Could this be it?

that song about heroin messed about with

Cheers AM - my problem is I haven't got a decent system to play things on and I actually don't know what it sounds like. But the song's got an atmosphere and I'm trying to bring that out. I've got a habit of mixing vocals low because I'm not overconfident about them.

that song about heroin messed about with

Yeah, it was only meant to be half comprehensible, but I agree it should be up just a bit. I did used to have a break where it goes back to the start chords, but I preferred it to be insistent and sort of hypnotic. I'd like a second opinion on this.
