    Liquid Sky

Nice. No nits other than the start doesn't do it justice. Not sure why.

Whats causing distorted guitar to sound washed out?

Horrible glitch at 2.07.5 dude. Nothing wrong with the guitars to my ears. Hard to know what you are looking for without lyrics though.

    Overproduced Song...

Try making your voice really small on the verse (treble, compression and maybe a bit of distortion and brought down in the mix). Then it will contrast with what you have on the chorus and I think this will really work. I like it. Ben Folds with arpeggiators, really good but let down by the...

Anyone have an ear for punk rock mixing ?

Refreshing! To much reverb on the vocals for me, it doesn't sit with the rest of the music which is very dry. I think the vocals could be lowered in the mix too. Its a bit SLF (no bad thing)!

    Tender Mercies - Escape

I think you need to give the drums more meat. While its clear, its all treble there. Oh, dirty guitar just kicked in. No meat there either. I think some good reverb could make the instruments sound a bit more real. Good vocalist. The song is a bit dreary for me.

A happy, upbeat song about drugs and death

I like it but I think the bass is being lost during the louder bits. Very unique!

    too lonely to drink

I'd like to hear what you could do with less conventional chord sequences. Nice song but the bass too loud.

    Deep

Good song, well sung and performed so this is criticism at a high level: The drums sound a bit gm and the guitars don't sound like they are coming through an amp so for me this song doesn't have any soul (in the original sense of the word). I think if you could get the drums and guitar sounding...

Go on - do me some "Damage"

This song has one of the nicest intros I have heard in a long time. I'm guessing you are the guitarist Fhumble, (I haven't read any earlier posts.) and if so, nice work but... ...this song is weak, IMO :( The vocals are weak and the lyrics are weak. You sound young, so I'm guessing you have...

    "Slobberknocker." (Alternative Rock.)

I haven't read any other posts so this is unbiased. My first thought was: why is he singing through his hand? Verse vocals are too muffled - you are right to effect the vocals but look for a different effect. I like this tune. I like the drum sound, the organ. It's not finished though. It...

A short dance track for your consideration

My biggest nit is that it doesn't have a bass. OK I'm listening on phones so maybe in a club you would hear it but, if there is one, it's buried way too far beneath that kick. Otherwise it's well produced and recorded but I'd like to see more layering, more experimentation with the groove that...

    A Bientot

Surely this is Billy Corgan singing? lovely song & vocals. the only thing letting this down is the snare(s). They are too sharp, too aggressive for the song. Take them right back and I think you have a great song, well recorded. (is it Billy!)

    The Rain

Thanks for turning me on to it Jeff. Listening to Mulu now (and for the last 15 minutes or so!). Amazing things going on there... not to mention crickets keeping time! Who needs a drummer? Love the delayed double bass, will steal that! "...believe in dreamtime: realtime inverted..." Nice lyric...

New Concept, New Band, New Song, New Mix

Sounds like a blast and its incredible what you achieved under the circumstances. I'm not a drummer but I think there are some pretty cool fills in there!

    The Rain

Thanks PI, Jeff & TripleM for taking the time to listen & post. It is really good to get a consistent message from several different people i.e. the lack of "oomph". Listening back I think I could have spent more time on the mix, and I think I can dig out the groove a bit more. TripleM, thanks...
