What, specifically with the low end are you referring to?

My newest video, let me know what you think

Sweet. The DSLR for video thing is epic. The ability to capture good depth-of-field with those things makes me jelly LOL. FCP is pretty much industry standard, so no quams there. I personally don't like it that much...but I'm also an Adobe whore being an FX guy (compositing, FX, color...

New video I did for Boston artist Lef Dolla

2:27-->2:32(ish)...lighting issues. Cannot see the artist's face and/or backlit by something brighter makes it hard to see the person. Color correcting could make it a lot better. There's a weird blue hue over everything except a couple of shots. The shot @ 2:47 has the best color/contrast...

    Album trailer

Mixer overlay @ 0:19: too fast, can't tell what it is. If the viewer can't see it, doesn't make sense to use it. Shot @ 0:26: aspect ratio needs to be corrected so either all of it needs to be 4:3 or the 4:3 shot needs to be stretched to 16:9. Also, looks bad with the person walking across...

    Small room recording possibilities?

OK...here's the 1st test. Please keep in mind before you flame the mix/quality.....i'm new to this. Totally open to suggestions, but the general (you suck, band sucks, etc) inflammatory type of stuff won't even be processed. Not saying you guys here are like that, just used to it in other...

    Small room recording possibilities?

We're mainly looking at #1 right now. I understand #2 and will eventually get to that point and we will. We've already started discussing this. As for volume....its totally a catch 22. Given the space we have and the type of music we play....it's a vicious cycle of self-discipline that's not...

Cubase 5 32bit vs 64bit.. Whats the advantage?

I don't see why not. I mean, Windows 7 comes installed with both 32 & 64bit versions of IE. As for the other....it's possible (only applying history w/ video editing software) that some of the VSTs/plug-ins may not work in a 64bit environment, although I haven't experienced this yet.

    Small room recording possibilities?

    Bump for additional question... OK...so in this example B posted: 1 & 2: Stereo from vox mixer 3: direct-in from bass amp 4-6: SM57s on guitars 7: MXL990 under snare 8: MXL991 above drums I wouldn't need 3 SM57s for the guitars...so should I take an additional 990 around the snare/kick...

    "School"?

I'm all about personal experience > school b/c that's exactly what happened for me. I was in the Army as a recon specialist...so I was destined for law enforcement, security, etc. AKA...nothing I wanted to do. When I redeployed back from Haiti, I got a PC and built another. From there I got...

Cubase 5 32bit vs 64bit.. Whats the advantage?

Basically, 64bit has a larger memory address space. If running in a 64bit OS, 64bit programs can utilize more of your memory. 32bit will typically cap at 2GB memory utilization. To my knowledge, adding more memory won't do Cubase 32bit any good b/c it won't utilize the memory whereas 64bit...

Is there a name for this tuning?

The 'A' sample definitely is out with each other. I don't have the same problem with any of my tuners, including "Pitch Bot" which is in my iPhone and uses the mic on there. What kind of tuner are you using? Is it one that simply shows the note letter with a #/b arrow or does it have a...

Which cables to connect microphone(s) to HD camcorder

You'll definitely need what wheelema posted. *IF* you can't afford that route you can still get a signal w/ an adapter, but I wouldn't recommend it. There's too great of a chance of too hot of a signal getting into the camera, then it's going to be nothing but over-distorted. Nothing's worse...

Me singing - Quit! or Continue?

Pretty simple formula: If you enjoy it and it brings you happiness, do it and don't ask people over the internet if you should stop. NEVER stop doing anything that brings you happiness b/c someone said you're not good and should. Luckily most on here (from what I've seen) will give positive...

“The Walking Dead” main zombie actor in my music video

Great job! My only feedback would be removing the "trails" from the slow motion shots...especially the one on top of Stone Mountain. Overall the editing was pretty smooth and the shots worked well together. The lighting from the Stone Mtn village should of been more on you & the guy as the...

    Patch bay for SaffirePro40?

Sweet, thanks! I'll just make it pure XLR, then. I'll search around the forums for quality cable recommendations. Thanks again.

    Patch bay for SaffirePro40?

Does DI boxes apply to the the "adapters make for bad" logic or are they still viable? Reason I ask is that with using the inputs for drums on some occasions is that I'd rather have them all XLR connections with the occasional line-in usage.
