Where do you sling your ax?

Pretty hard to say since it's in an 45degree angle.... Pretty much protecting the jewellery I'd say. Or a beerbelly hanging in there.. :D

Hi all!! Again, I'm interested of a tube pre in a pedal, this would be Brunetti overtone 2.. Has anyone any experience on the amps, or even better, the pedal??

    Preferred brand of cables?

plus 1 for that. I've always bought the cheap stuff, like Cordial, or Snake... Recently bought a half-decent Fender cable, and noticed a serious diminishing of unwanted feedback. I'm thinking Planet Waves stuff.....?

Where have I been? What's with all the small low wattage heads these days...

Sovtek Mig-30. It was intended a 50Watter as designed by Tony Bruno, I've read, but the russians used an OT too small, thus outputting only 30W before the tranny sags, resulting in sort of compression in the sound. Then again, me switching output tubes around without any biasing, just seeing...

Where have I been? What's with all the small low wattage heads these days...

What I was trying to say: I like to portray a picture of the Man punishing the amp. Not the other way around. Easier to make it sag, moan and feed back as a 30Watter, a 100Watter will crush you.

Where have I been? What's with all the small low wattage heads these days...

I own a 30Watt Sovtek, and a 100W Spetel head. Both have the same characteristic, somewhere past halfpoint in volume, they suddenly get LOUD! ..on a very steep curve....I'm guessing that that's the point when the powertubes start working properly. :D Also, this is where they start to sound...

Best damn deal I've made ever. Spetel.

Spetel. A russian JCM800 copy. IMHO, blows MANY amps out of the water, at least gain-wise. I play metal, that is what I need, gain. Gibson LP studio baritone straight to the amp, no pedals: (disclaimer: I was drunk.) http://serif.pp.fi/paskaa/STE-010.wav 100W all tube, point to point. I...

    Korg Pitchblack Review

I've got a pitchblack, and a digitech Hardwire-series tuner... As new, both do an excellent job at it.

    12ax7 to 12au7??

I just received a HUGE list from the man, containing all sorts of tube types he's got around.... 12BH7A, EL95, EL41, ECC40 E188CC..... it goes on and on... Any Ideas where I could check the list for audio amp tubes?? These are all NOS, mil-spec OR premium industrial grade.

    12ax7 to 12au7??

Tha-Taa everyone! The same geezer that provided me with some 12ax7-tubes a while ago, Came up with a 12AU7WA tube today, saying he's got a few if I'd need them. Can a 12au7 be used in place of a 12ax7?? perks? Cons? Less gain, I'm sure, but maybe less hiss?? microphonics??

    Spetel

Hi! I just scored a 100w all tube amplifier. 4 preamp tubes, 2 power tubes. preamp and master volume. Goes what I now presume as "JCM800"-crunch. Rare as f*ck, russian "Spetel" amplifier. 350 euros. A tad fizzy at lower volumes, byt nice when played loud. I just need a good overdrive, and the...

Anyone compare this crunch to JCM800?..

THANK YOU! If that is a comparable sample of a JCM 800, it's actually pretty much! Comparing to my crunchsample at 0:41, where I'm not grating the hell out of the strings, The amount of "fizz" comes close. I might cope with that... And while comparing, we must remember my sample...

Anyone compare this crunch to JCM800?..

Facepalm. Next time someone asks about his recorded tone, everyone here saying to cut down on the distortion, I'll remember this with warmth. Thanks. :D

Anyone compare this crunch to JCM800?..

I'm repeating myself here. "So, what is the amount of crunch a JCM800 is capable??" God knows I'm not going to get a JCM800, and NOT ordering a preamp from U.S to Europe just to try them side by side. I would like to know: "..what is the amount of crunch a JCM800 is capable??" That, if you...

Anyone compare this crunch to JCM800?..

Everyone and their mother are using the JCM800 as a benchmark for tube-dimed-crunch sound. I realised that I've never heard one live at full tilt, that I can recall. Youtube-clips are varying, some might have boosters off view... So, what is the amount of crunch a JCM800 is capable?? Here's a...

New Raw guitar sound any good?

...of the tone. The sound is very gnarly distortion. Violin like, with not much pick-dynamics. Could be used in a lead if you can mix it, but personally I wouldn't try stacking/multitracking that into a rhythm sound, or doing much arpeggios, or tremoloing at higher tempos. Too sizzly and too...

Interesting listening test: modelers vs. the real vintage amps

HAAA!!! I thought I was completely deaf for "tone".. But listened the twins and marshalls, "live amp" every time. ..never heard a Vox live...:o Amps were warmer, had more harmonics, and were less screechy. Though, the Marshalls didn't sound good at all... But in all the cases, It was down...

    what's on your pedal board?

bass: Nothing. Guitar: Koch pedaltone, digitech hardwire series delay and tuner. Which, btw, are not on a board, but in the bottom of my "live in" roadcase.

    Filthy black metal.

Thank you both! Nice to know it's not complete garbage, My friends are pretty "pop" so I get a lot of discouragement.:D Yeah, I reckon we're gonna hear a lot about the Satyyriness of the vocalist. And my roots being in rockish stuff, throwbacks to rock, stoner etc. are gonna happen.:p Well, all...
