Bounce files(wav) as per timeline for other DAW Mixing

You're welcome. Here is the website: http://www.aatranslator.com.au/ The main page has all of the supported formats. Again, I've never used it but the developer hangs out on the REAPER forums quite a bit. Apparently the software works very well :)

Bounce files(wav) as per timeline for other DAW Mixing

"File > Consolidate/Export Tracks..." will render each track for use in another DAW. As for conversion to other formats, you'll need the AATranslator software. I can't comment on the conversion personally, but I hear it does a great job! Hope that helps :)

    Allocating More RAM to Reaper?

Yes you can. In the FX browser, you can right-click the plugins you want and have them run in a separate or dedicated process (I don't remember the exact terminology.. I'm not at my desk right now..) You can also set this globally in REAPER's preferences. Sorry I can't be more specific!

    switched from logic to reaper

Yes. No nag screen :D Oh and your name + license type in the title bar. Really though, it's not a donation. You have a 30-day trial period and then you need to pay for the program. They do (technically) allow using the program beyond 30 days. The program won't disable anything, but this is for...

    Reaper compatability issues?

Hmm.. I'm not sure why that's happening. I've never had any problems with the transport. To tell you the truth, I've never had REAPER crash on me, heh. You can grab the user guide here: http://reaper.fm/userguide.php It's pretty big so you'll probably want to right-click and save it...

    Reaper compatability issues?

Holy cow! Your latency is near 1 second? Check the buffer size in your tascam's control software. You should be able to run at way less than a second -especially- with a quad-core cpu. Also make sure you're using ASIO in REAPER's preferences and not WDM or DirectSound or any other audio system...

    Reaper compatability issues?

Glad you got it working! I think Cubase has something called direct monitoring which works with your audio interface if it supports it (not zero-latency monitoring using the mix knob.) Unfortunately, REAPER doesn't have DM (it's been requested though!)

    Reaper compatability issues?

Just trying to help. What's wrong with starting at the beginning? *shrug* Crashing a plugin/asio driver and not recognizing a plugin are two completely different things.

    Reaper compatability issues?

REAPER should recognize all VSTs, but you'll need to tell REAPER where to find your VSTs. Go to Options > Preferences - Plugins/VST You could try hitting the "Auto-Detect" button to have REAPER search your computer, or you can either type in the path name or click the "Add" button to browse to...

How come some pros don't need room treatment?

Check out the John L Sayers forums. A lot of his designs deal with room issues during construction, but there are still bass traps and other absorbers there, you just can't "see" them. Most are in the form of slot absorbers. It's true that good sounding rooms start at construction, but if you...

    Sounds great, thanks!

    Embedding ISRC codes?

Okay, thanks for the advice. I agree with not charging clients for codes, I just wasn't sure what 'the norm' was in that type of situation. Is there anything else I should know about ISRC? Or is it pretty much just receiving the code, typing it in, and keeping a log of the ones I provide for...

    Embedding ISRC codes?

Thanks for the replies! So it sounds like I should ask future clients to provide their own ISRC's before we begin the mastering process. That's something I could include in a "getting ready" handout before the session begins. If the band can't/won't provide me with a set of ISRCs, is it a...
