...or, you know, any other interface that meets your needs and is within your budget.

Gecko Zzed's right. If you're strapped-for-cash, the ASIO4ALL wrapper can help with latency, but you'll get much better results with an interface that supports the right signals and has *much* cleaner preamps.

    Microphone volume with reaper

Yeah... it's not really a good idea to mismatch the impedance of a source and a load. Mic, Instrument, and Line level signals are all different from each other. It's not just about volume. Not to mention the noise coming from the amplifier (among other things) will also degrade your mic signal.

    Exporting Wav. Files to mp3?

That's really strange.. It really shouldn't be this hard. I have the 32-bit version here. I'll PM it to you. Are you sure you're not running the 64-bit version of REAPER?

    Exporting Wav. Files to mp3?

Ok I see the problem. You don't need to install lame_enc.dll, all you need to do is put the lame_enc.dll file in the REAPER folder (most likely C:\Program Files\REAPER) You can find it here: http://jthz.com/~lame/ The first link is a zip file. You can ignore everything in the file except the...

So I know this feature is there, but I can't figure it out.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lDbTsJlf6E Not sure if they're using REAPER, but they do use the controllers live. I saw them playing with MC Chris in Minneapolis last month. VERY COOL!

    Exporting Wav. Files to mp3?

Hi there, Hopefully I can help.. As mentioned, using the "render" option is what you want to do. This allows you to combine all of your tracks, convert tracks to different file formats, etc.. What you want to do is render your project to a single mp3 file. Step 1: Here is a finished project...

    Who developed Reaper?

Yikes! I forgot about you? Crap, sorry! Well, in my defense, I'm still a REAPER toddler :D

So I know this feature is there, but I can't figure it out.

Hmm... I haven't used a gamepad (yet) but I would think that you could assign the buttons to actions and macros just like any other controller. Try pressing '?' to bring up the actions list, find the action you want to use and click "add," then hit the button on your gamepad. For triggering...

    Audio time stretching

I'm not at home right now but I think the max speed is 4x and min speed is .25. There is a playrate slider next to the transport that allows you to adjust it to whatever speed you want. You can also right-click the playrate slider and change the minimum and maximum speeds if you would like. I...

    Who developed Reaper?

Nope, this is the inventor of Winamp and Gnutella P2P (and more if you read his wiki. Thanks for posting that Gidge!) The two other developers are Schwa and Christoph, not to mention Xenakios and SWS for their amazing extensions, White Tie for his excellent graphics work, Nicholas for this...

Need help adding an EQ to Reverb...

Easy. 1.) Create a new track and insert your reverb plugin. 2.) Drag the "io" button from the tracks you want to have reverb on to your new reverb track. (creates a send) 3.) Done! Another method is to create a folder track and insert a reverb plugin. Include the tracks that you want to have...

    Audio time stretching

It sure does. :) You can use the playrate slider at the bottom to speed up or slow down playback (right-click to preserve pitch) You can also time stretch recorded/imported items by holding alt and dragging either edge of the clip. Alt + Enter will bring up the project settings where you can...

    Multi-core optimisation

It's true that you can't specify certain plugins to run on certain cores, but there are quite a bit of multiprocessing options available. Unfortunately, I'm away from my DAW right now, but take a look through the preferences and you'll see what I'm talking about ;) I'll try to post some...
