The Focusrite supports higher bit rates up to 96kHz, while the Duo Capture only supports 44.1 and 48 kHz. Not that you need it!

I'm home now and have fired up Cubase. It seems you can't edit those 'Inactive' fields as easily as I thought. I have solved this issue before after a crash and Cubase switched to a different ASIO driver after restarting, but I can't remember how.

It looks like your output channel is inactive in the top picture. Can you click there where it says 'Inactive' and activate it?

Everything plays through the folder track, but you can create sends to anywhere else as usual.

If someone can record a clip to put up on the internet, surely they could just listen to it to hear for themselves whether they can sing? I'm more likely to believe it if people are looking for specific advice on making improvements.

I use copy and paste to build the structure and then try to record me playing along with the whole thing for keeper tracks. I don't always get round to the latter part, though!

I like the Pixies, but don't know a lot of their stuff. I really like some of the earlier Smashing Pumpkins stuff. I had Nevermind, but wasn't a big Nirvana fan - it was a pretty good album. I was mostly into British indie bands in the 90s.

I found Reaper easily bridged some 32 bit plugins that I wasn't able to use with Cubase (either using Cubase's own bridging or JBridge).
