One of my favorite guitars is my DeArmond Jet Star Sp. It's a knockoff of a Guild Thunderbird. http://www.1800instruments.com/images/Jetstar.jpg It's pretty ugly, but it was only $85 brand new and it plays really nice. Pickups actually aren't bad either.

I'd advise you to lock yourself in a room with no furniture or wall decorations, a few pots of black coffee and listen to the My War album by Black Flag over and over at high volume for about 36 hours. All you need is a slight change of headspace and that'll do it.

Steve & Joe were the "Toxic Twins", and the others were just kinda the not-as-interesting 3. I dunno, like the Mick & Keef thing mentioned above, they're just kinda the attention-grabbing duo. I'd throw Axl & Slash (circa 86-91) in that mix too.

I got my 12-string back in either January or February, and it's been tuned to concert pitch the entire time with no ill effects. It's an Ibanez too, one of the new "Sage" series ones.

I have one. It's good at what it does, easy to get to work, but learning all the tricks it can do will take a while. First things first, when using it for the first time cut the volume knob on your guitar back to about 3 or 4 and adjust from there.
