Musician's Friend always pulling through. Discs and cases there and then go to Kinko's for inserts.
Are you thinking of something else? That site seems fine and the things they are telling you to do aren't system critical processes. They have tips like disable the screen saver not delete my most important file.

Well, I started this post and just saw all the responses now. Unfortunately (I think), I now have dual MG10/2s. I run them into a M-Audio Audiophile Firewire. What kind of bleed would I get if I was using channel one to mic vocals and had all the other channels turned down but just with...
I have limited funds and need a decent kick mic. I'm really tempted to get the CAD KBM412 except I know its pretty bad except it's in the price range (under 100). I also made a subkick with a 8'' speaker but need something more. Should I use the KBM412 in combination with the subkick or maybe...
Oh it can happen. I bought my first one a while ago and the thing broke the very next day. The soldering connections broke straight off. Not good.
It's probably the connections.
But if I hooked up the 8-channel preamp into the mixer I would only have room to but it on two channels. Doesn't that mean that I'm going to have to basically split four on each channel and therefore not be able to EQ each channel and just EQ them as a group?
I thought about the 8 channel preamp, nady maybe, but I want to be able to mix the signal and EQ it first because I'm using the line in on my audigy II soundcard so I can't mix the signal once its in the computer much. You think my 2.02 ghz processor and 512 mb ram could handle recording two...
Has anyone ever run dual mixers to a soundcard? I really like my Yamaha MG10/2 but need more than four XLRs. Instead of buying an expensive bigger mixer I was thinking about just buying another MG10/2 and then running RCA cables from both mixers into a Y-cable and then into my soundcard. Any...
Thanks for all the help. What I meant by "decent" is not the crap I was recording before. The drumset is pretty bad and so are the cymbals. My set up goes like this:
-overheads placed similar to diagram on the SAE reference (left mic over highest tom and cymbal and right mic over lower left...
I'm using a Yamaha MG10/2 mixer into a Soundblaster Audigy II sound card. I'm using for mics for the drums: two Joe Meek JM27 overheads (panned hard left and hard right), one SM57 for snare (two inches above head angled at center), one KM212 for bass (inside 6 inches inside drum). The drum...
I recently purchased a Yamaha MG10/2 to do recording with and I have a couple of questions. Which is the best output for me to choose from the mixer? I have the choice of REC OUT (RCA L & R), STEREO OUT (1/4'' L & R), and CONTROL ROOM OUT (1/4'' L & R). I am currently choosing the REC OUT and...
I need advice on what kind of mixer to buy. I will be running different condensor and dynamic mics into it an recording them from the mixer into a soundcard on my computer. I need something with about 8 channels and at least 6 XLR mic inputs with phantom power. I also don't wan't to spend a...
Hi, I'm a guitarist in a band that wants to do recording. We mainly play ska/jazz songs with drums, guitar, bass, brass, and vocals. I have been recording periodically for a while using some not so good equipment.
For mics I have been using the following:
-one Shure SM57
-one Shure PG58...
