how do you set up the DW 6000 to work with Midi? i've plugged the cables into the keyboards midi in and out jacks but it doesnt seem to communicate with my midi software
thanks
i installed the software that came with it so i'm assuming the drivers were part of it. however when i was reading the instructions it said that if the drivers were installed properly i would have to set my programs up to recognize UNO A and UNO B as my midi in and outs. i never was given this...
i'm new at midi so bear with me cuz this is probably something simple...

hey everyone. for the first time since getting my VS2400 i'm burning a cd of all the different projects i've recorded.
i've mastered each song individually already.
i've read the book and i understand that in order to make a compilation of projects, i need to make 2 master tracks (left and...
on the project i burned i had the inputs channels at 0db each and my preamps were set at max volume without clipping and each track channel was set to 0db and master volume at 0db as well. to me that seems like it should work. even when i have my monitors pretty low i can still hear my mix...
hey. i'm just starting to burn my projects onto cd but one thing i've noticed is that when i listen back to the cds, the songs are really low in volume. when i play them over my monitors they are pretty loud. my master level is normally around 4db. this should be enough. i'm not sure what i can...
thanks for the suggestions. the diagram isnt really drawn to scale. i'll get measurements asap. i was just thinking of how i plan to take over my basement when i move back home in april so i thought i'd plan ahead
can anyone suggest what i can do with my basement. its already finished and it seems like a pain in the arse to modify for studio stuff. right now i keep my mixer on the angled bar in the kitchen area (not the greatest place for it). the laundry room would be a good place for my mixing room...
does anyone have any links for sites that teach how to make your own studio furniture, absorbers, bass traps, etc?
how do these compare to buying auralex or something along those lines
thanks!
what's everyone's oppinion on this mic? is it any good? what will it sound good on? im hoping to use it for accoustic guitar and hi hat micing. is it worth it? i can buy one for $65 CDN with a cable used.
let me know if you think i'd be getting a good deal
i think im getting it. im not very educated in midi so some things are still blurry.
but if i have a keyboard and it does what i want then thats all i need to know :)
is there any advantages to having one over the other? to me it just seems like having a keyboard would be better because it is...
im looking for a module that will provide me with some realistic string sounds (cello, violin, etc). anyone know where i could find such a thing? how much roughly?
when recording a keyboard, do i plug the keyboard into the mixer using a direct in or do i have to use a midi cable? when i've played like with keyboard players they always use direct ins but then it makes me wonder why they have midi. is midi just for running the keys through an effect...
If you listen to the drums very carefully on the FF cd and compare them to other cds that dave has played on you'll notice that there's a few songs he actually played on. He's always played a few songs on their cds and has acknowledged that fact but he wont disclose which songs he played on...
