i have a vented snare and like it quite a bit but I would still love a great unvented snare as well.
I play in a ska/punk band so the vents work well but every now and then I'd love to have a nice deep sound and you just can't get that with giant vents
i've gotta say that i do own a pair of orriginal composers and they do really sound good. i know behringer has a crappy reputation but i stand by my ears on this one. i've tried the older models of the composer and they are absolute crap compared to the early ones.
I've also used the dl241 and...
here's a picture of a band I know creating their "secret" sound in the studio

I knew their guitar player liked using effects but this is a new one

i spent quite a while working on this buti'm pretty happy with the end results...minus my computer getting completely bogged down form all the active plugs i had going :P...
i find with screamers, it really depends on the context of the scream. if you can record the screams seperatly from the clean vocals it can be very helpful since you can have two different setups and you can tweak each differently. with screamers if they need to go from the clean to scream in...
a standalone unit could be very good for what she's doing. you could burn it all in real time, index things if need be and all you'd need is to hit the record button and then finalize (takes a minute or two)
with a computer, there is the added benefit of being able to run other applications on...
i've actually been told many times that q-tips aren't good for your ears. they're decent for cleaning out the wax and dirt on the inner ear lobe but as for actually getting out the wax in your ear, they can actually make things worse because you can push wax further back in your ear canal...
i've never used the urs eq but i've heard many good things about them. I have used the oxford eq and liked them quite a bit. They're nice and clean and easy to use
i own a delta 44 and haven't really used it nearly as much as i should have but its a fairly good unit. it all depends on how many inputs you need. there's plenty of other options out there for the same price that come with built in pres which could save you money
depends what you mean by "adding" sounds.
by the nature of your 002, you have the ability to record with 8 analog inputs, and 8 digital plus the spdif. you can't add anything more than that - 18inputs.
if you've used up the 4 preamps built in to the 002 and want to use more mics, you can...
i can't really tell you whether or not this is the case without hearing your files but its very possible that the mastering engineer did add noise to the signal. usually mastering enginneers will add a bit of dither to a signal to help prevent quantization error. obviously if the noise is...
well as of right now, i have a TS patchbay with TS cables only.
I'm looking to add more cables to the bay and am gonna connect them to my DIGI002 inputs and outputs, DBX 586 preamp, Joe Meek VC3 and VC6, and dbx 163x compressor.
I just wasn't sure at the time I started the thread that I had a...
i've been studying with the most juno nominated engineer in the world for the last two years (Kevin Doyle - worked with andrea bochelli, alanna myles, kiss and a whole lot more) and he claims that often when mixing its best to sit just inside the equallateral triangle so that you aren't always...
Hey guys, I'm looking into getting a snake for my patchbay and was wondering if I should be looking to get TRS cables or TS. The majority of my patchbay is hooked up to my Digi002 and then the rest of it is preamps and compressors.
I currently have a TS snake for 8 of the channels and that...
its not for published....its actually copyright in PHONOGRAPH. meaning that you've copyrighted the SOUND RECORDINGS rather than the copyright C logo which stands for copyright as a song (lyrics & melody). The difference is important because you may not actually own the copyright of the sound...
i owned a vs2400 for a while and found it to have a lot of limitiations with editing functions. simple things such as cutting and pasting were very limited and it didnt allow you to hook up to usb should you want to go to a computer. i owned it for about a year but didnt necessarily spend as...
