    Har-Bal

Say hey Kylen, Nuttin to be sorry about. I'm so noobie that I'm still searching for a reference point. I'm monitoring through "came with the 'puter speakers" and/or cheapo cans. Being the lazy SOB that I am, I was hoping for an easy starting point. I'll just have to find the time to analyze the...

    Har-Bal

wow G'mornin' Kylen+MP, I seem to have stepped into a puddle that's deeper than I am tall. I've read this thread several times and don't understand one bit of it. I'd better do alot more reading and practicing before addressing this again. Thanks for your responses. But, now if you'll both...

Any body experience an THD Hotplate?

Mornin' Eric, A postscript to the other thread. I talked to my Mesa customer service dude. He assured me that the Hot Plate would not hurt my amp, anymore than just running the amp at high volumes. FWIW, Bill

    Har-Bal

How do all, Has anyone had any "hands-on" experience with Har-Bal? I've done a search, to no avail. Apparently, the demo version is 8-bit and it's hard to hear what's going on. If it does what it says it will do, I might consider getting in on the $95 introductory price. As a learning tool if...

Acoustic guitar strings - what's you favorite brand(s)?

'Morning Rick, FWIW I'm very partial to D'Angelico 80/20's. 2 weeks of playing and they're still brighter than the Ernie Ball Earthwoods right out of the package. But, what do I know? Bill

How to Play Guitar, by David Fair

If neck tension is an issue, why not just treat it like a 12 string? Tune the guitar a couple of half-steps low. Then generously apply some capo? Ain't I just full of great ideas that ain't worth a s@*t?

How to Play Guitar, by David Fair

Innovative ideas Some great concepts. I love the idea of using 6 identical strings. And then tuning them all with the same amount of tension. I'll have to try that. However, I don't agree with "The idea is to put a pick in one hand". What about a pick in both hands or no pick at all?

    THD Hot Plate

yes You've helped a lot, damnit. I was hoping for the magic bullet. ;) I've got a '72 Mesa Mark IIc and I love it. The clean channel sounds great at any volume (to me) but the OD needs to be cranked some to get nice and round. I live on a dead end street, surrounded by trees, so disturbing...

    THD Hot Plate

'Mornin folks, I've pretty much talked myself into buying a THD Hot Plate. But, before I go looking for one and plunking my $300 down on the counter, I was hoping that some of youse might share some inside info on this unit. Has anyone ever worked with one? Had any problems with tube wear or...

    Your favorite Boogie model

My baby Tom, I've got a Mark IIc and it is all the amp that I'm ever gonna need. Very versatile. Like fprod south said earlier, just a tiny adjustment of any knob will really influence the sound. Dial carefully! I have no idea how much it would cost you (if you could even find one). If you do...

Drop D Bar Chords (Easy 3 string chords!)

Nickleback uses dropped D for "How you Remind me". I don't, but they do. Steven Stills uses a lot of dropped D. I use the dropped D to turn his "4+20" into a 7or 8 minute jam with myself. Of course, I sing it as "2+50" ;)
