    Electric Vs. Acoustic drums.

What do you mean by distortion? If you mean distortion as in guitar effect, then your mic levels are WAY too high. I meant distortion as in, my last demo recorded my drums sounded like fuzz. It may have been the mic(s) that's why I was wondering. The bass Drum rattled the whole set and it...

    Electric Vs. Acoustic drums.

Hi, I was wondering Which you guys preferred. Electric drums, or acoustic drums for recording? And Why? I'm Unsure to go with drum mics for my set, or an electric set for no distortion. I've mostly seen people with acoustic sets, I assumed it was for more real drum sound. I figured with an...

    Getting started

Welcome to HR! I would like to second the st59. Very impressive mic. I'd go with cubase, pro tools (kind of expensive), or adobe. Fruity loops for beat production. If you want your vocals to sound top of the line. I'd recommend a vocal compressor. I'd recommend you mine but It's been a real...

    Quality Vs. Quanity.

Would you rather have numerous (say 4) decent mics for a variety of sounds. Or One really good sound for one good accurate sound. I have an offer being trading my mic for 3 mics being mxl and such, all studio no live. But I'm not sure if I can part with my mic.

Need some tips from people who has dreams on recording a song for all to here

Mixcraft is nice as he said ^^. Very easy to understand. I prefer analog over digital mixing tho as you can get more in depth with your tracks. A mixer can record 2+ instruments at once depending on how many tracks you have and the number of tracks it allows you to do at once. You can get a...

    Elec drums

I would assume by just plugging it into an amp and into the computer (or just the computer if the amp does not have 2 inputs). Select the sound your looking for and jam out. I run my electric set strait into my mixer with little hall effects and a nice reggae setting it sounds amazing. Good luck!
