    Saluda Cymbals...

I bought one a while back when they were claiming they were the greatest cymbals, it sounded like crud. Now they claim that the model I bought was never that good and that the new models are the greatest. I swear for years they also claim to have sound samples soon on their webpage, but it...

M-audio Delta 1010lt - Do I need the Maximum Audio Tools?

Are the maximum audio tools required for me to be able to run the Delta 1010lt to it's fullest. I could care less about all the extra's, I just need to make sure I can do all the regular level adjustments and stuff like that. I can get the drivers, but no maximum audio tools, should I be fine...

Real quick question about selecting portions of a wav.

I was just curious how I go about selecting regions from more than one track, but not all of them. For example, say I want to take out a snare hit from all the drum mics like overheads, snare mic, and the bleed through the tom mic. When I drag the pointer across the snare hit on the snare track...

Will upgrading to 256MB RAM help plugin usage?

I'm not sure exactly my processing speed. I have Dell Dimension XPS T700r. From about 2000. Pentium 3, Windows 98. My buddy told me I need a PC-100 card, any suggestions would be very helpful though. I've been searching on the net for a while now about this, and everything I see seems to be...

Will upgrading to 256MB RAM help plugin usage?

My computer sometimes goes into the 90% usage range when I run a bunch of plugins on n-Track. Fortunately I can usually get by fine because I don't use to many plugins in the first place and my computer runs nicely, but I'm mixing an album and I think I'm gonna want to make sure that I am fine...

Pro Junior, need re-biasing with new tubes?

I need new tubes for my pro junior, and for some reason I vaguely remember that possibly I might not need to re-bias it when I get new tubes. Is this true, or am I crazy? Thanks a lot.

Confused on AUX sends/returns for delay etc...

Ok, so I want to get the end part of a vocal to tail off with some delay. I think I remember doing this on pro-tools a while back by creating an aux send, and then I believe I returned it to another track, and boosted the volume only when I wanted the delay to occur. But how do I do this on...

    Cheap TOM MICS

best buy has instrument mics for $50 by audio technica, I've tried them on toms with results I was very happy with. They make good live vocal mics too.

how do i get rid of drum rattle

yeah, listen to ebeam. Mostly likely it will sound fine when you mix a whole song over the drums. Sometimes it adds some character.

    kick beater in wrong place??

plus, just do what sounds good and works. In reality physics has no place in music. Well, you know what I mean.

What's wrong? Won't let me hear the take that I just punched in.

I think it automatically silences it when you punch in over it. Unfortunately I can't figure out how to unsilence it, and clicking that red X won't do anything for me. I figured out that if I just drag the punched in section to a new track then I can hear it. I'll try moving the other stuff to...

What's wrong? Won't let me hear the take that I just punched in.

I did a punch in to finish recording a drum track, and I can see the waveform, but it won't let me hear it. Kinda frustrating when you want to know how it sounds or if it's even gonna work. Any ideas why this is? Also, the n-track forum won't log me in, it says my password works and everything...

    lets talk cymbals

I played on 16" and 18" K Dark Thins, untill my 16" cracked, and I didn't want to spend $160 on a cymbal that I might crack again in a year, so I got a 16" AAX Dark Crash, which goes well with my 18" K, and cost only $120. I've only had it for a bit so I don't know how well it will hold up, but...

    Audiophile 24/96 connection question

My mixer has record out RCA Jacks that I send into the RCA in of the Audiophile. I think most mixers have that option, but I am also looking into finding a way to go XLR -> RCA, or 1/4" -> RCA to expand my options.

    Metallica - St. Anger

Yeah Cliff was the man. Sadly I gaurantee he would not be in the band today if he was still alive. But still, Justice and the Black album were both good. I think they have just been rich bastards screwing their supermodel wives for too long to make good metal. I mean, theres not even one guitar...

Problems with wave to MP3 conversion

I'm not sure if this is the problem but my only advice would be to make sure you have your playback settings at 16 bits. Otherwise whatever is trying to read the wave file probably won't be able to. I had this problem when mixing down a fews songs and having no clue as to why I couldn't burn...

    Quieting Down Loud Drums

Go to Tower Records or Guitar Center. Either grab the clear ones from tower or the orange ones from guitar center. Both are hearos I believe, and are high fidelity. Basically the volume will go down and it will still sound good. Actually I think it practicing sounds way better with them on.

    Quieting Down Loud Drums

You probably need to give some more info, like mics and placement and stuff. All I could recomend is to move the guitars closer to the mics, or turn em up.

    When will the madness end?

Metallica's new album not only sucks, but also sounds like crap too. Not to mention there is not one guitar solo, it's like they're not even trying.
