Really struggling with acoustic guitar mixing

Sounds okay to me. Lower the guitar in the mix. Let the vocal come up. Do a high pass on the guitar at 100Hz. Great performance and tune!

    Foam Tile Placement Help

Good to post here again. It has been a while. What Mjb said is what i have heard too. I have no experience to draw on. My question would be, how does the room sound now? It does not look like a terrible space. Can you work with the ambience that is there rather than deadening it? Different...

How can I filter microphone hiss from my headphones?

That noise is preamp gain. I'm also hearing background that shouldn't be there. Back off the gain. You don't need to record hot in the digital age.

Should you master a song if you only plan to release it as a single?

You need to master your single if you want it fit in with pro-quality releases, but that's separate from mixing. Finish the mix and render to an audio file. Then master that file. You'll get a better mix and master that way.

Dancing Is My Dump Stat - new VHS song

I learn pop culture lingo with every song you post: dump stat, waifu. Catchy tune. I am not near my monitors so I won't comment on the mix.

Guitar Amp Sounds Great But Records Poorly

The people recommending putting your ear next to the mic have never tried getting the cabinet out of the room where they are tracking. As far as running back and forth adjusting the mic--five minute tops, the first time or two that you record with a new cabinet or guitar. After you figure it...

Guitar Amp Sounds Great But Records Poorly

I would not recommend putting your ear next to the speaker.

Moron needs help with mixing/clipping/tonal balance challenges (song link included)

I would suggest not attempting to master while you are still mixing. If the recorded tracks are good (sounds like they are here) then you don't need a bunch of EQ in your mix. The vocals and perhaps drums will need more. Most everything else, try to get by with just a high pass. Try 25 Hz...

I sold a song, but am I getting proper credit for writing it?

I would think that if you sold the song, you have no further claims or rights of any kind over it. Did the purchase agreement include any clauses about songwriting credit or lyrics? If not, you probably sold your say when you sold your song. Don't sell your songs.

DI/Re-amp box needed to route interface audio through pedals and back?

Might be. The Radial EXTC is a solid piece of kit with two separate loops, which is quite useful to me. It also has separate volume pots for input and output, which is helpful when using guitar pedals in the loops. I use it because I prefer to track guitar FX, but some of my amps don't have...
