PNP pedals mixed with NPN pedals on a 1 spot daisy chain?

There are a lot of wall warts out there that let you reverse the polarity by simply plugging the barrel plug backwards into the wall wart leads. They usually work well with pedals, and I'm pretty sure they're all single supplies, as there are only two DC leads and the reversal works by swapping...

Fixing dead channels in Soundcraft Two Series

Are the "dead" channels being sent to the same group bus? I had a mixer problem once that I thought was dead channels. It turned out that one of the group bus cards needed to be recapped. I went ahead and recapped all of the group cards while I was in there, 52 electrolytics replaced in total. I...

    Dealing with fundamentally bad vocals

We don't need to know all of that to know there aren't very many ways to fix a singer who has ZERO control over her voice. I don't even know where to begin with this. You may be able to "sort of" fix the pitch with AutoTune. You may be able to "sort of" fix the nasality with creative filtering...

Songs from my home studio, I would love your feedback!!

Agree about the music and arrangements. I would almost say the arrangements are too sparse, but that's not really the problem. The sonic space needs to be filled in a little more. Not by adding more instruments, but rather by making the existing instruments fatter and giving them more presence...

Is 5:05 too long for an up beat modern country song?

Yep. Better to leave the audience wanting more than to over-expose your hook.

    DIY IPOD dock.

I built a ghetto computer in a cardboard box once. :laughings: My iPod dock is just a 6 foot Y-cable plugged into the tuner inputs on my amp. Works great!

Wanting to purchase a used ipad.

I have an 8GB blue iPod Nano that I rarely use anymore. I haven't really thought about selling it, but I've replaced a lot of the music I have on MP3s with LPs and expect that trend to continue. I may even be able to scare up the wall wart for the USB charger cable too.

    Which cassettes for 4-track recording?

Wow, two pages of this? The owner's manual tells you which tape to use - usually TDK SA or maxell XL-II, 90 minutes or shorter.

Question about using a home theater sub-woofer with near-field monitors.

As a general rule, home theater subwoofers are better suited to reproducing movie sound effects than music. Other concerns: * You'll most likely need an external crossover to use the subwoofer with your monitors. The frequency response of the monitors and subwoofer shouldn't be allowed to...

Are rack tone modules going away?

Tone modules require electrical engineering in addition to software engineering. That adds to the cost. Why build a whole electronic device to do something a general-purpose computer can do?

Are rack tone modules going away?

As long as VSTi is where the money is, that's probably where manufacturers will focus their development efforts. The goal of corporations is to minimize costs and maximize profits. Software is as close to nothing as consumers are willing to pay for.

    guitar pedals

You'd definitely get more bang for the buck from the Floor POD. Hell, one or two regular pedals will cost at least as much.
