Depends on what you mean by cheap... You don't wanna get anything too cheap because the AD converters may not be that good. What are you trying to spend?
I used to have the Firebox and I loved it. Had to sell it because I wanted to get into Pro Tools. I have the M-Audio 1814 now combined with the Presonus Eureka which is great... if ur not goin the Pro Tools route then go ahead and get the Firebox.
Wouldnt u just run ur line out in the preamp to the line in on the firewire interface? Just dont turn the preamp on on the firewire device, turn it on the preamp.
Wondering which of these entry level channel strips gives me the best bang for the buck recording just vocals? I'm most interested in the preamp section of the strip. Im going to be connecting to a M-Audio Firewire 1814 using a AT4040 mic..
I probably am, just thinking that I could get better quality vocals if I had a seperate preamp or channel strip, I HAD better quality vocals when I used to have my presonus firebox... I guess the preamps on those are a little better than the 1814. I wanted to get into pro tools so I decided to...
Right now I have a At4040 mic and MAudio 1814 interface... I want to look into a decent channel strip to bypass the pres on the 1814 and compress on the way in...some channel strips I was lookin at are:
Price Limit $500
DBX 386
Joe Meek SixQ
Presonus Eureka
M-audio Tampa...
Anyone tried any...
