Right now I have the KRK RP5's and I just traded my AT4040 condenser for a KSM27 (second time i had this mic)...I like the ksm alot better on my voice. My tracks are sounding better already but I'm thinking I could get better sounding mixes with some better monitors. Maybe larger monitors...
Right now I have a AT4040 and AT2020 mic. These mics tend to have a slighly brighter sound than I'm looking for right now. I'm looking for a mic with a smoother sound. A smoother high end most likely and clear low end. The mic will be used for vocals only. Any recommendations?
I'm asking because I'm thinking about getting one. Right now I'm using a AT4040 mic on vocals and sometimes the lows can be slightly heavy and I believe its because of the regular mesh pop filter that I have. I know the 4040 mic is not a mic that is really heavy on the lows but I was wondering...
