Yeah I found one for £17 that seems quite good so I'll get that at some point. I will wait till I move my studio into a different room mid september because then I will have a smaller desk and will need to have something like this.
my laptop does have a side fan as well and the bottom fan is usually covered most the time and my laptop never seems to get hot but I wouldn't want to risk it. So if I do get a laptop stand do you think it'd be okay to rest it on there? providing the stand doesn't weight a ton of course
Hey
I have a tascam us1800 and I was wondering if it is okay to rest my laptop on it as it would conserve a lot of space and make things much easier?
I considered it when I first got it but I thought it would damage it but I've realised that it is designed to go on a rack so close contact...
I've just seen your other post actually and the 57 and 58 can get you good results :)
I've recorded vocals in an untreated room and it can sound fine.
the only question now would be the quality of your guitar and amp but I'm guessing you're quite a good musician, most people are before they...
good tune :) only listening on my laptop but having listened to your other stuff before I'm confident it'll be a good mix even if you're doubting yourself.
I think what you are trying to do is relatively simple.
1. I think you do have the necessary equipment, however being more specific with what mics you have could be more useful to answer the question. The vocals might be the only thing I would be worried about. If you are going to record them...
Yeah I sometimes have problems with different sections not sounding fluent going into each other but I just play around with cross fading and that'll usually sort it.
If you are a beginner to recording then it can be hard but I do all my songs in sections pretty much, including the drums because I am not very good at them, and my songs sound fine actually. I've always done it like that since I started recording 3 years ago so I guess I've had practice.
well I am quite concerned about how I am going to carry it on in future years when I'm at uni and then probably living in a small apartment for quite a while :/ I guess I am going to have to build up a portable studio and then box stuff up at my parents
I'm not gunna buy yet, I have no reason to buy them right away but for the time being they'll be my first choice.
I've realised that it won't be a while until I build proper panels. There have been at least 3 times in the last year that I have researched into getting the materials to build some...
I don't think I can really push to buy either of those mics, I think I will go for the akg 170's as I explained in the other thread but thanks for the suggestions
You know what I think I might go for them. I've watched some videos on youtube and they seem good. I'm sorting out a better sounding room so with better mics as well the sound quality of the drums will be a lot better whatever mics I decide to buy.
AND I seem to have gotten a brilliant deal for...
whatever I do here it won't be for a few more weeks because after speaking to my dad he said that I might as well wait until my brother goes to uni and then I can make his room my studio, which would not only make more sense because it is in the basement and is much more out of the way, but it...
