    moog sounding rig?

You can find a Moog Rogue, Micromoog, Opus-3, and a concertmate MG-1(made by Moog for Radio Shack, essentially the same as the Rogue) all for under $500. You might get lucky and find a Moog Prodigy for very close, if you look hard enough. If you've got a MIDI keyboard, you can score a used Nord...

    CEP and external FX?

CEP only supports WDM drivers. The Firestation only supports WDM drivers for 2 tracks. So, you'll be limited to 2 tracks (of input/output, not playback) if you use CEP and the firestation. So, CEP doesn't sound like its a wise purchase, until CEP nabs some ASIO drivers, or Presonus updates...

Best Cool Edit Version for Mastering Songs...

Since there's only one availible, I'd say Audition... You'd like 2.0 at least for realtime effects, and since its no longer availible, Audition will do the job. -Chris

A few questions. New House and new studio. Sound treatments?

The very best insulation is Owens-Corning 703... The papery insulation will do something, I'm sure, but you're space won't be used to it's advantages... The most important thing to remember is NO PARALLEL WALLS and NO RIGHT ANGLES.... Don't worry if your construction guy looks at you funny....

So...what do you want in the next version?

    1. VST effects 2. ASIO Drivers 3.CPU meter 4.More routable mixer- send effects send to different channel 5. Include a GATE with effects 6. Better interface for effects panels 7. Better distortion 8.More color options for individual audio files in tracks (7 or so get old quick) 9.Better...

    CEP and external FX?

It'd be as easy to apply external effects in CEP as any other computer multitracker- it'll all depend on your interface. Though I'm not familiar with your particular card (I've actually never heard of it), if the ins/outs and internal routing are availible, it should be a cinch! -Chris

You CAN... that's what's so convenient about sampled drum tracks... you can change the groove on the fly, or even switch you samples entirely :)
